Job Description
Position Summary:
Manages the overall shipping and receiving department during 24/7 operations. This includes managing and maintaining all safety related items, OTIF, the shipment schedule, inventory, inflow & outflow of raw materials and finished goods, and coordination of all job duties that pertain to shipping, receiving, and inventory management in the warehouse.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Warehouse Manager: Reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Accurately oversees shipments to customers using approved procedures in Oracle. Handles other requests for unscheduled shipments. This includes managing the:
Preparation of required paperwork; invoices, packing lists, shipper's letter of instruction (SLI), bill of lading, and labels. Managing the packing and palletizing of shipments per customer and government requirements. Contacts appropriate carriers for pick-ups. Tracks shipments per customer expectations and OTC goals using appropriate systems.
Document Preparation and Management: Manages the preparation of documents to comply with government regulations on all shipments. Responsible for coordinating, creating, and training on SOP's in Oracle.
Problem Solving: Identifies and corrects problems in the appropriate systems.
Finds solutions to the problems and involves other functions as required. Proactively works to create efficient systems and processes to stop problems before they happen. Analyzes and manages inventory transactions to ensure transactional discipline.
Inventory Flow: Provides leadership, accountability and clear direction through the coordination of all activities associated with shipping, receiving and inventory flow.
Manage the preparation of shipments to customers using approved procedures and processes through Oracle system. Handles other requests for unscheduled shipments. Assure efficient use of space for inventory. Manages the process of daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts.
Performance Management: Manages the shipping and receiving team (~15 employees). Identifies training and development needs for direct and indirect reports.
Trains and develops staff on shipping and receiving best practice methods, continuous improvement, and processes. Enforces all company policies and upholds the Plant Managers vision & direction.

Safety Driven Individual
Five+ years of receiving, shipping and warehousing experience.
Demonstrated working knowledge of duties such as transportation scheduling, quality control, receiving, packing, shipping and inventory management.

Strong ERP skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required

Ability to safely use shipping equipment as required. Includes but not limited to scales, stretch wrap benders, pallet jacks and forklift
