Warehouse / Yard Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION: This professional multitasker will manage and oversee the receiving, handling, storing, picking, and staging activities within the warehouse/yard, ensuring quality standards are met at every turn. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail oriented, and able to track multiple facets of the warehouse/yard at any given time.
Essential Functions as follows:
Warehouse/Yard
Schedule and oversee warehouse team to meet the demands of the production department. Hire, manage and discipline, if required, warehouse/yard staff according to company guidelines.
Conduct annual reviews for each direct report, with the help of Human Resources, to review company expectations, employee's strengths, and opportunities for growth/improvement.
Manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime. Ensure the orders are pulled with accuracy (items and quantities are correct).
Work with supers to establish priorities when pulling/staging work orders.
Always keep the yard and warehouse clean.
Organize and manage space requirements and fleet parking.
Establish inventory levels, preventing overstock or understock events that are within our control.
Control materials being returned from the field by properly placing items in the correct area and with the correct paperwork.
Work directly with the Purchasing Department for materials needed to maintain a fully stocked yet manageable inventory.
Actively participate in Weekly production meetings Working with supers to identify what's working well and where improvements can be made
Working with Lead Estimator and Purchasing to identify paperwork errors so they can be fixed. Example: Units of measure on paperwork vs. yard (LF vs. EA, LF vs. bundle etc).
Communicating effectively to identify production challenges & finding/implementing solutions
Conduct end of month inventory counts to be submitted to Purchasing and Corporate Controller.
Meet regularly with General Manager to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for productivity and minimize loss prevention.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures that comply with legal regulations.
B. Fleet Management:
Assist the General Superintendent and Safety Department with Fleet Management Visual inspections of fleet to identify cleanliness and or damage.
Verify insurance and registrations are current.

Comfortable delivering frequent direct written and oral feedback.
OSHA 10 will be required, OSHA 30 preferred.

Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and lift up-to 50lbs.

Travel
Out of state travel is not common for this position.
Preferred Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED, college an advantage but not required.
