Job Title:Warehouse Manager

DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) manages the flow of goods and information across a customer's global supply chain utilizing air/ocean/ground transportation, customs brokerage services, and dedicated warehousing/distribution centers. We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Warehouse Manager in our Chicago, IL (ORD) facility.


  • Assumes responsibility for good working practices, safety, and security for customer inventory

  • Develops, recommends, and implements process and procedure improvements for service delivery to the customer

  • Provides customized solutions for customers in the areas of warehousing, inventory control & analysis, transportation, and technical support

  • Responsible for the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the product and ensures budget targets are met

  • Supervises staff, responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing subordinate staff

  • Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes

  • Collaborates with senior management to deliver strategic business results.Builds collaborative working relationships across groups

  • Drives Performance Improvement though active management and use is CIP tools.

  • Metric driven and drives team performance based on data

  • Responsible to shape and adjust workflows based on business need.

  • P/L responsibility for the business unit, works to control costs and implement cost improvement measures.

  • Drives Productivity improvement measures with teams.

  • Responsible for root cause analysis and implementation of corrective measures to address and minimize reoccurring challenges.

  • Responsible to develop, maintain, and implement local operating procedures and work instructions.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years in freight forwarding and operations experience required

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory or management experience required managing a union workforce a plus

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Familiarity with DOT and HazMat regulations

  • Familiar with TSA, TAPA, and C-TPAT regulations

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

  • BA/BS Preferred

Perform shipping, receiving and stocking of aircraft parts and supplies. Maintain accurate stock levels to guarantee materials availability for maintenance events to avoid service disruptions by aircraft being out of service due to parts. Responsibilities * May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g. emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments.) * Process all materials movement requests accurately and on time. * Perform cycle counts accurately. * Maintain up to date shelf life on every stockroom. * Accurately process shipments in compliance with federal regulations. * Demand and issue all parts to maintain accurate inventory counts. Qualifications * High School or GED certification. * Must have valid Drivers License. * Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to read, send and execute instructions via email and memos. * Proficient with computers, basic knowledge of word editing software, inventory sheets and email management. * Warehouse Operations Knowledge, experienced with shipping, receiving and stocking practices. * Ability to carry several assignments at the same time and deliver positive results. * Ability to adjust to continuous change, ability to shift focus to new task while keeping productivity and without losing sight of general goals. * Detail Oriented, able to produce accurate work to avoid unnecessary reproduction. * Self-initiated, able to complete needed work and/or identify areas that require work. * Dependable, completion of all assigned tasks and maintains good attendance. * Able to lift 50lbs and stand during extended period of time. * Able to endure temperature changes and outside work. Preferred skills/experience: * 2+ years in a warehouse environment. * Inventory Background experience. * Aviation Materials Knowledge, familiar with parts numbers, descriptions and handling. * Hazardous Materials Shipping and Handling, knowledge of HAZCOM and general shipping procedures. * Forklift driving experience. * Please be advised that you will be asked to complete a required assessment to be considered for this position.
