Summary
The job of a Warehouse Manager involves overseeing and supervising the daily operations of a warehouse. This includes managing inventory, overseeing the receipt and dispatch of goods, and ensuring the safe and efficient storage of products.
Essential Functions
- Managing inventory levels and ordering new stock when necessary
- Planning and coordinating shipments, including receiving and dispatching goods
- Ensuring the warehouse is organized and tidy, and that products are stored safely and appropriately
- Leading and supervising a team of warehouse staff
- Maintaining accurate records of all transactions, including inventory levels, shipments, and returns
- Conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
- Implementing best practices for warehouse management and continually looking for ways to improve processes and efficiency.
- Perform and submit quarterly physical inventories.
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Required
- High School or equivalent
- 2-4 years applicable job experience
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technology skills and the ability to leverage technology in work processes
- Strong communication skills, including written communication
- High level organizational skills, time management skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment to consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to anticipate, identify and resolve problems in a timely and positive manner
- Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and effectively handle interpersonal relationships with others
- Excellent managerial, supervisory, and/or leadership skills. Able to develop and motivate others
- Knowledge of principles, procedures and best practices in the industry
- Ability to use a forklift
