Warehouse Manager

Job Description

As a Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of Alpha Construction Materials, including inventory management, purchasing/vendor management, and overseeing warehouse operations. Your responsibilities will encompass tracking materials, maintaining warehouse cleanliness and organization, conducting inventory counts, purchasing materials, and supervising delivery drivers, as well as delivering materials to job sites.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of purchasing and inventory control, including data entry and reporting in the purchasing system.

• Be responsible for the accuracy of all inbound shipments, including checking supplier counts and reporting discrepancies to the carrier and supervisor.

• Maintain shipping records, such as returned materials, damage, discrepancies, etc.

• Verify inventory levels with system cycle counts against physical counts.

• Carefully handle materials and learn material components, scope systems, task codes, etc.

• Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse.

• Drive delivery truck as needed. Deliveries will take you around Dallas-Fort Worth, TX.

• Move materials to the warehouse and box truck via forklift and/or pallet jack.

• Ensure a culture of safety is at the forefront of decisions in the warehouse.

• Enter data into different databases and spreadsheets.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in leading a warehouse of $1M of more in inventory control is required

• Experience in waterproofing, fire stop, commercial construction, and/or spray fireproofing is preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferred

• 2-4 years of Purchasing/Inventory/Warehouse Management experience required

• Valid CDL B Driver's License preferred (and acceptable/clean Motor Vehicle Report)

• Forklift Certification required

• DOT medical card

• 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred

• Construction industry experience preferred

• Outlook and Microsoft Office skills required (strong proficiency in Excel and Word)

Physical demands:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to a certain weight limit.

• Proficiency in operating warehouse machinery and equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

• Capability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.

• Stamina to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physically demanding tasks.

• Adaptability to varying temperatures and weather conditions within the warehouse.

• Capacity to perform repetitive motions, such as lifting, stacking, and sorting items.

• Awareness of and adherence to proper ergonomic techniques to prevent injury.

• Ability to drive and operate vehicles for transportation purposes.
