Primary Purpose:
Leads the warehouse team in developing and executing materials management strategies and ensuring customer satisfaction. Safeguards the district's investment in food, paper, textbooks, testing materials, and other items by promptly delivering to areas needed using efficient and effective warehouse practices. Monitor and control items as required.
Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of basic warehouse and routine maintenance and repair procedures
Knowledge of required inventory documentation to include receiving, organizing, temperatures, and perpetual inventory
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Deliveries
Reliably organize and deliver shipments of food, paper, textbooks, testing materials, and other items to campuses and pick up items from various locations as required.
Maintain a clean and orderly truck and perform routine vehicle checks. Unload and load items from trucks using appropriate equipment and rotate pallets in the freezer.
Receiving
Verify the accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, and code numbers with information on invoices or packing slips and purchase orders; record any discrepancies or damage.
Open crates and other containers using hand tools to unpack items received. Inspect shipments for damage and defects.
Inventory
Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, and handcart.
Sort and store items according to established procedures.
Maintain custody receipts for items being repaired and loaned out temporarily.
Driving
Operate box truck and other vehicles used to transport items throughout the District and to and from the greater Dallas area as required.
Safety
Operate equipment and use tools following established safety procedures.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques.
Correct unsafe conditions in the area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisor immediately.
Maintain tools and equipment and perform preventive maintenance as required.
Other
Inspect vehicles and equipment following established inspection procedures to identify needed repairs.
Completes event set up/tear down work orders.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises warehouse staff in the field.
Consults with the Warehouse Supervisor and completes directives in an organized fashion
Coordinates, as necessary, with the General Maintenance Lead and Student Nutrition maintenance to ensure efficient and effective work completion.

Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of a mouse; frequent walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding; grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving
Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis
Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, and vibration; work around moving objects or vehicles; may work alone; occasional prolonged or irregular hours
