The Warehouse Lead is a key leader assisting the Warehouse Operations Manager to meet that goal. The Warehouse Lead is responsible for people development, expense management and driving the operational aspects of the business. This role has a broad range of responsibility and reports directly to the Delivery Center Warehouse Operations Manager.

Some of the functions the Warehouse Lead will perform:

  • Train and support through hands on teaching and coaching using our Company values

  • Executes and supports daily prepping and truck staging of merchandise for home delivery

  • Ensure truck prepping lanes are accurate and ready for loading

  • Ensure accuracy of physical and digital inventory locations

  • Ensure proper execution of Standard Operating Procedures related to the inventory process

  • Oversee the process of prepping and loading trucks

  • Communicate line damages to Office Operations Supervisor to ensure relay to customer and appropriate documenting of issues

  • Manage and train for a uniform and consistent wrapping process for all stock

  • Drive damage prevention by communicating damage data and coaching to team members on root cause

  • Ensure that safety requirements (proper belts, safety glasses, etc.) are in place daily with team

  • Achieve operational excellence via execution of the company standards to keep a clean, well-organized facility

The ideal candidate will have among other skills and abilities:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to lead and motivate teams

  • Prior experience of leading teams of up to 10 associates preferred

  • Ability to effectively delegate, follow up and communicate with all levels in the Delivery Center

  • Knowledge of furniture delivery standards preferred

This is a high profile role with the opportunity to be part of the startup site and offers tremendous growth. The Warehouse Director coordinates the receiving, shipping, and material handling responsibilities in the warehouse by designing and developing product movement and storage systems, improving operations, and supporting the front line staff. Responsibilities include cost efficiency, continuous improvement on processes, service, and safety for an entire business unit across all shifts. This individual is responsible for managing a team of 5 direct reports and 107 indirect reports across numerous shifts. The warehouse is 220,000 square feet and the site volume is roughly 18 MM cases and is planned to be the largest volume warehouse in all of NAB once it's at full capacity. Major Tasks, Accountabilities and Key Responsibilities: * Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations * Maintain quality standards of finished product * Ensures smooth delivery of product for the Sales organization * Achieves operational objectives by contributing warehouse operations information and recommendations to strategic plans * Reviews and prepares any action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met * Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions * Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for front-line hourly and salaried personnel * Develops team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals * Delivers effective change leadership while driving business changes and minimizing people impact * Communicates and collaborates cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues * Motivates the team members to achieve plan goals * Develops warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements * Develops processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, gate processes (check in/out), and shipping * Develops and implements warehouse operations system improvements by leading continuous improvement projects as assigned and by analyzing process work flow, manning and space requirements, and equipment layout. * Troubleshoots all receiving and shipping complaints to find the cause, help resolve the issue, and prevent reoccurrence * Administer policies and procedures * Regular and predictable attendance at the work site * This role requires regular presence on the plant floor Qualifications/Requirements * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Preferably in engineering, business, operations management, or similar field * Lean Six Sigma Experience preferred, demonstrated by successful completion of a major improvement project. * A minimum of 7 years of operations/logistics or supply chain experience preferred * A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience preferred * Strong knowledge of inventory management systems * Forklift certification a plus * Experience with continuous improvement (i.e. Lean Six Sigma certification, TPM, lean manufacturing, etc) * Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications * Ability to give and receive constructive feedback * Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making * Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment * Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring others * Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills * Must be authorized to work in the United States Relocation Eligible: Not Applicable Job Type: Regular All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
