Join our team as a Warehouse Lead!
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for all warehousing work activities on shift designated area; ensures effective use of employees, equipment, and facilities and adjust to changes in workload by helping physically with operating requirements by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities
Plan daily receiving and shipping schedules to meet inbound and outbound shipment volumes while working side by side with Warehouse Associates to complete all daily tasks
Organize receiving/shipping activities. Verify that all received/shipped materials and documents are accurate
Operate forklift, stand-up fork lift truck, order/cherry picker, pallet jacks and/or hand truck, and a conveyor system to move products and other tools for shipping
Ensure that products move efficiently from receiving to storage and shipping in a timely manner. Ensures that orders due for delivery are available within the cut off time and are completely ready to ship prior to carrier pick up arrival
Maintain stock location accuracy and stock organization via efficient receipt/put-away process and reconcile Cycle Counts variances
Assists/fills in for warehouse associates in receiving/shipping, cycle counts, and physical inventory functions
Assist in performing Distribution Coordinator functions during heavy workload periods or when the Coordinator is off
Ensures that all scanning and mobile devices are secure, charged, and properly taken care of
Inspect material handling equipment daily for defects and notify management personnel of repair needs
Ensure that orders are accurate and that posting of inventory is timely. Ensure that all paperwork is handled according to procedures and within company (JSox and internal) compliance
Operate computer terminal to research, input, and retrieve receiving, shipping, and inventory data as well as Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Conduct daily effective safety and housekeeping walkthroughs in order to ensure conditions detrimental to health and safety or injurious to equipment and facilities are corrected
Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises workloads and leads employees in the Shipping & Receiving Department. Carries out floor Lead responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting in interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing workflow; assists Distribution Supervisor in appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 or more years of related experience
1 -3 years of SAP and WMS experience is highly desirable
Ability to operate a forklift, stand-up forklift, order/cherry picker, pallet jacks and hand trucks
Forklift certification is required
Familiar with the use of hand tools, vertical saw, pneumatic nail gun & wrenches
Must have knowledge of WMS Distribution system; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software (MS Office)
Ability to understand all safety and policy procedures
