POSITION SUMMARY

The warehouse lead position is responsible to plan, direct, and coordinate the storage and distribution operations within the warehouses, along with staffing, reporting, analytics, and full cycle distributions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Plan and allocate team resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet customer needs by scheduling team accordingly and adjusting due to PTO, unplanned time off, call-ins, etc. in a timely manner.

  • Supervise the activities of the warehouse team engaged in shipping, receiving, storing, etc. products.

  • Uphold food grade sanitation in all areas as well as maintaining the sanitation SOP's, procedures, documentation, etc.

  • Maintain organization throughout the warehouse.

  • Responsible to report details to direct report involving, but not limited to, productivity, sanitation, staffing, and organization daily.

  • Work directly with director to ensure all warehousing goals and projects are meant.

  • Ensure safety meetings with associates are completed with documentation of attendance for personnel file(s).

  • Responsible for performance counseling conversations, write ups with team including but not limited to safety, policy, procedures, and attendance violations.

  • Responsible for development and execution of corrective action plans as requested by customers or management.

  • Maintain excel documents regarding productivity and production.

  • Consistent communicate with team leads to ensure smooth transitions for day-to-day functionality.

  • Communicate with customers through phone and emails in a timely manner to ensure their needs are met, exceling for above and beyond expectations.

  • Responsible to continually evaluate, develop, and implement procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and guidelines for team to follow including but not limited to receiving, handling, storing, shipping, salvaging, inventory, safety, etc.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop team; including but not limited to training new hires and retraining current team, ensuring cross training in all areas.

  • Work with Human Resources and Director to recruit, interview, select hire, and employ appropriately.

  • Review weekly reports, customer complaints, misships, inaccurate inventory, etc. for areas of improvement, coaching, and development for team.

  • Promote and drive a culture of mutual respect, accountability, and collaboration across all areas of the organization.

  • Takes an active role in new projects and processes; drives the communication to warehouse team.

  • Confer with department heads to coordinate safety and warehouse training, updates, needs, etc.

  • Responsible to maintain accurate inventories for all areas and customers within the warehouses.

  • Inspect physical conditions of warehouses and equipment, order testing, maintenance, repair, or replacement.

  • Involved in preparing and managing departmental budgets.

  • Advise sales and billing departments of any additional charges, reasons for increases on rates, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; required

  • Associate degree (Logistics, Business Management, or relatable field); preferred

Experience:

  • 5+ years within Warehouse industry or relatable field; required
  • 2+ years of warehouse leadership experience; required
  • 1+ year of forklift experience; required

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite; required

  • Warehouse Management System experience; a plus

  • AS400 experience; a plus

Essential Skills:

  • Strong emphasis on Safety, OSHA, GMPs, etc.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people internally and externally.

  • Exceptional organizational and record keeping skills.

  • Strong attention to details, record keeping, organization, and follow up.

  • Department and team orientated mindset.

  • Demonstrates ability to multitask, make quick decisions and time management.

  • Proactive mindset and high level of personal, team, company, and customer accountability.

  • Problem analysis and problem-solving.

  • Ability to tolerate high stress and fast paced environment.
