Prime Pork is seeking a 2nd shift, Warehouse Lead to direct receiving, warehousing and distribution operations. Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization, initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures. Manage the receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations. Warehouse experience required. Hands on experience with multi-product warehouse processes and procedures. Knowledge of general warehouse terminology, coordination of freight carriers and both LTL and small package shipping

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-shift checks of equipment.

  • Breakdown and restack product from pallets.

  • Product and quantity verification.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Maintain schedule of timed loads as assigned by customer.

  • Tracking start and finish times for each load.

  • Maintain roster of available personnel according to start and finish times per truck.

  • Collection of fees for services and authorization of ComChecks.

  • Use of handheld computer to record daily loading/unloading activities and/or the writing of daily recaps to capture all billing and payroll information.

  • Download of information from handheld computer to desktop and review of reports for accuracy and omissions.

  • Possible shagging of trailers in and out of doors, setting up trailers for next day loading.

  • Transmittal of final daily reports to the corporate office.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience; will consider equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Forklift operator experience.

  • Radio Frequency Scanner (RF) experience is a plus.

  • Ability to read and write, as required.

  • Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to work in environment of extreme cold conditions.

  • Ability to lift up to 90 pounds on a daily basis.

  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug tests.

  • Ability to sit, stand, squat, walk, grasp, lift, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability to function successfully in a fast paced, changing work environment.

  • Detail orientated, organized, reliable, and resourceful.

  • Strongly written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to maintain high expectations for self and others, demonstrating dedication to achievement of results.

When you join our team your main responsibilities will include: * Provides leadership and guidance to employees in the Warehouse. * Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. * Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions. When you join our team your main responsibilities will include: * Supervise and coordinate the most efficient unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and the picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of quality. * Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. * Responsible for the cross communication between shifts. * Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment. * Maintain a clean; neat, and orderly work area; ensure all security policies and procedures are followed. * Ensure Associates follow all safety policies and procedures. Thoroughly investigate and report all safety accidents and violations in a timely manner. Conduct operations in accordance with OSHA and MSDS Standards. * Ensure proper food safety practices are maintained. * Direct the operations of the assigned work team to achieve prescribed objectives. * Conduct shift meetings. * Follow all policies and procedures. * Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads. * Prepare and maintain work records and reports of information such as employee time and wages, daily receipts, or inspection results. * Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems. * Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals. * Conduct meetings to relay general information or to address specific topics, such as safety. * Counsel employees in work-related activities, personal growth, or career development. * Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, or disciplinary measures. * Assess training needs of staff and arrange for or provide appropriate instruction. * Resolve personnel problems, complaints, or formal grievances when possible, or refer them to higher-level supervisors for resolution. * Other duties as requested. You will be required to have the following qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 3+ years related experience in a warehouse environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required. * Bachelor's Degree, preferred. * Minimum of 2+ years' experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management, required. * Previous food processing experience, manufacturing knowledge and understanding of yields, plant efficiencies, and operations procedures, preferred. * Knowledge of OSHA Standards and USDA/HACCP regulations. * Knowledge of SAP, Manufacturing software, Inventory software, Internet, Spreadsheet, Word and Order processing, preferred. * Bilingual a plus. * Travel required, up to 5% of the time. * May be required to work long hours and weekends. * Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment. * Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
