Warehouse Crew Leader

Summary

JOB SUMMARY Provides leadership, assistance, and advice to coworkers in all areas of the warehouse operation, and serves as the trainer for new employees and newly promoted employees. Inspects and receives cargo to protect the interest of Tropical and its customers.

Receives cargo on the main floor, UPS, Yard and Ramp. Enters correct data in the warehouse management system, preparing cargo for putaway. Operates a forklift as part of the receiving, stripping, or putaway processes.

Puts away cargo in the proper location and documents that transaction properly in the warehouse management system. Attends to customers delivering at the ramp, and in the yard to ensure they are given personal attention and special assistance when needed. Loads cargo into containers, ensuring shipment integrity (no shortages or errors), blocks and braces shipments to reduce risk of damage.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.EXPERIENCE: Twelve (12) months Tropical warehouse experience.OSHA Certified in forklift operationOSHA Certified in headhandler operation.Knows and understands all receiving and loading processes, all areas.LICENSE: Valid State of Florida Drivers LicenseTRAVEL: None
