The Warehouse Coordinator will be responsible for creating and managing the company's fixture replenishment program and other various procurement related tasks as assigned.

Major Activities

  • Review and understand blueprints to accurately order fixtures/supply needs to build a store.

  • Process purchase orders through the Oracle system to multiple vendors for all required pieces and parts to build a store.

  • Review prints for each store to ensure all store specific items are correctly ordered

  • Communicate with vendors and coordinate deliveries.

  • Prepares New Store Kits for shipment including pulling of items, packing, staging, follow-up of missing items, and accountability for the accuracy of each shipment.

  • Stage and build pallets for each store

  • Loads New Store Kits, notifies logistics in advance regarding trailer requirements and schedules the departure when package is loaded.

  • Packs, loads, and ships New Store Kit components to existing stores as requested.

  • Work closely with the Project Specialists throughout the project to resolve any opening issues and expedite orders.

  • Work closely with a Project Manager to understand scope and magnitude of remodel / relay / refresh projects.

  • Work with Project Specialists to validate work on special project fixture needs.

  • Place purchase orders in Oracle with multiple vendors.

  • Communicate with vendors and coordinate expedited delivery.

  • Attend weekly conference calls and/or meetings with a Project Manager for discussion of performance issues, project schedules, and fixture issues

  • Articulate project statuses, issues and provide solutions and areas for improvement to drive the business and productivity.

  • Maintains the cleanliness of the pre-stage area, warehouse rack, floors, shelving, and new store packages.

  • Conducts and maintains inventories in the pre-stage area, tracks quantities on hand, logs shipments of individual items to existing stores per the FF&E process.

  • Assists in the placement of pre-stage items and fixture orders

  • Coordinate with 50+ vendors to make sure all fixtures arrive on time.

  • Works with facilities, operations & the model store to coordinate the sample sale

  • Work with HR to setup pickup for habitat after every sample sale.

  • Schedule the forklift PM's along with setting up replacement of the propane

  • Maintains all warehouse equipment along with monthly PM's

  • Work with the support team to put together Santa Hat project.

  • Keep all the CFD items up to code for inspection

  • Develop plan and layout for a Michaels fixture warehouse.

  • Orchestrate pack up of closing stores to bring back fixtures to the warehouse.

  • Receive fixture trucks from closing stores and store the product carefully.

  • Discard any unacceptable fixtures that are returned.

  • Develop a systematic way to manage inventory, execute cycle counts and provide regular updates.

  • Review FFE store requests and ship out fixtures as approved.

  • Train other Project Specialists to function within the fixture warehouse.

  • Always maintain organization and cleanliness.

  • At peak times, lead the team of Project Specialists to assist in warehouse duties.

  • Train the team of Project Specialists to understand the functions in pre-stage and in the fixture warehouse to be your back up when required.

  • Supervise activities when projects ramp up and multiple Specialists need to work in the warehouses.

  • Develop close working relationships with vendors and support center partners to continue to improve existing business processes.

  • Collaborate with multiple depts. that work in the warehouse

  • E-Comm, Marketing, Model Store, HR (sample sales), and Facilities.
  • Train the team of Specialists to perform cycle counts in the warehouse and review their work for accuracy.

  • Organize the schedule to give advance notice of back up needs, cycle counts performed and any large projects that require additional support.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

  • Graduation from high school required.
  • 2 years college level training in office administration or a related field preferred.

Other

  • Thorough knowledge of the systems and procedures associated with the administration of a modern business office.

  • Working knowledge Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Oracle knowledge

  • Ability to type accurately, including the operation of a computer keyboard, at a moderately rapid rate of speed (45 - 50 wpm).

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in the handling of varied and moderately complex matters for which relatively well-defined policies and procedural guidelines exist, without the need for direct supervisory involvement

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department and company personnel at all levels.
