Warehouse Clerk - Outbound - 1St Shift (Mon-Thurs; 5 Am To 3:30 Pm); 10 Hours

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

To facilitate the efficient flow of work throughout the Distribution Center, and to maintain the highest possible customer service standards through interaction with internal and external business customers.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Coordinates Customer Pickup orders from the time the notification is received via the fax machine until the customer arrives to pick up the merchandise.

Coordinate wave picking process including releasing work via the system or handing out pick labels as needed.

Researches missing cartons from pick waves to ensure oldest waves are consistently being closed out fully within seven days

Maintain routes in the Warehouse Management System and sets up correct trailer numbers at each door.

Coordinates loading process ensuring loaders are getting the required deliveries completely loaded.

Closes out routes printing bills of lading for each stop on the delivery and preparing the driver's packet to be taken to the guards.

Follows all standard operating procedures and adheres to all stated productivity requirements while performing the job.

Maintains work areas in a neat and orderly fashion.

Works safely and complies with all established safety rules and work practices.

Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.

Provides support for, and/or backup coverage for Inbound Warehouse Clerk, as apparent or assigned.

Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School education or equivalent.

• At least 6 months of related experience in a distribution center environment.

• Ability to work a varied schedule based upon business needs.

• Previous working knowledge of warehouse management system functionality (Manhattan Associates' WMi preferred)

• Excellent troubleshooting skills.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Ability to accurately read and match numbers.

• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions and communicate to personnel.

• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work in a manner that promotes a safe working environment.

• Ability to contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

• Certification to operate all power equipment as required.

• PC experience. Knowledge of the AS400 and WMS systems.

• Demonstrates Northern Tool + Equipment's 12 Core Competencies.
