Schedule: 9am 5pm or 2pm to 10pm

Reports to: Logistics Supervisor

Location: Avon, CT

We have an immediate opening for a Warehouse Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of shipping documents and the preparation of goods for shipment, including seeing to proper packing and labeling. A portion of the work involves receipt of materials delivered to the plant, checking shipments, entering, and receiving data into the computer system. Work includes local pickups and deliveries. One important aspect of the work is that the majority of outgoing shipments require close adherence to U.S., and a variety of foreign government, foreign shipment and trade regulations. Uses the BE system for processing inventory transactions and shipments.

Essential Functions:

  • Will be required to operate Powered Industrial equipment.

  • Check material in and out of the BE System.

  • Deliver materials to work centers as required.

  • Maintain inventory integrity.

  • Prepare products for shipment and loads outgoing trucks.

  • Transfer boxed goods weighing up to 75 lbs. with assistance.

  • Operate material handling equipment when moving incoming shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas and maintains records of locations.

  • Must attend and be trained in Hazardous Waste Training (RCRA) EPA 265.16.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

  • Packaging and labeling product according to department procedures and customer specific requirements.

  • Identifying incorrect or short-shipped items, performing root cause analysis to cite improvement opportunities.

  • Verifying and maintaining inventory accuracy of product, ensuring accurate transaction of product in Business Express (BE) program.

  • Maintaining organized storage of shipment records and documentation.

  • Pickup and deliveries of materials to work centers as required.

  • Maintain inventory integrity.

  • Prepare products for shipment and loads outgoing trucks.

  • Adhere to US and a variety of foreign government, foreign shipment and trade regulations.

  • Lifting packages and supplies up to 75 pounds.

  • Required ability to stand for extended periods; must be able to walk, stretch, reach, crawl and grasp objects; required to bend, stoop, climb, or kneel occasionally.

  • Willing and able to act as a backup in the absence of team leaders.

  • Maintains clean and efficient work area, contributing to 5S program efforts.

  • Follows prescribed safety regulations in accordance with ORAFOLs Health and Safety policy.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • High School Diploma

  • One year of warehouse experience;

  • Forklift certification preferred

  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Exhibit a high level of attention to detail.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing/logistics environment a plus.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs. with assistance.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Basic math skills and computer data entry required.

  • Required ability to regularly move about the facility and sit, bend, stoop, or kneel.

  • Must be able reach, crawl and work in small spaces on a regular basis.

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills required.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team.
