Overview

Provide labor and effort to assist in the accurate and timely receipt of goods, consolidation of warehoused goods, and replenishment of pick locations as well as other necessary warehouse functions such as pulling customer orders for next day delivery, replenishment, housekeeping and inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and properly unload a trailer of product, verify the load for accuracy and stage for put away. Pick and pack orders using label picking, ring scanners, voice directed picking or paper picket tickets.

    Meet individual productivity and accuracy standards as identified through Labor Management (LM) metrics. Required to safely operate material handling equipment (MHE) to include forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, reach trucks, slip sheet attachment, and/or clamper truck or attachment. Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) scan guns and tools for the purpose of maintaining proper inventory levels and proper location of goods in the warehouse.

    Assist in physical inventories and cycle counting as directed. Interact with associates during the hand-off from shift to shift. Frequently will have interaction with delivery personnel, and the early morning receiving crew.

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), preferably one year warehouse experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required to obtain certification and safely operate material handling equipment (MHE) to include forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, reach trucks, slip sheet attachment, and/or clamper truck or attachment. The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and will occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.

This position is based out of our new El Paso, TX facility. Position Overview: The Warehouse Associate will provide shipping and warehousing expertise to support in all areas of the Switchboard Team including, but not limited to, assembly, order picking, and shipping and receiving parts, with the overall goal of timely order fulfillment and adherence to Eaton's quality standards. In this function you will: * Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position. * Ensure that all products and parts adequately meet Eaton's quality guidelines as they move throughout the production process. Perform quality checks as instructed. * Receive and process material kitting orders in a timely manner to execute production schedules * Complete inventory transactions and ensure accuracy * Comply with all safety and industrial hygiene requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. * Own and lead 5S process and discipline for assigned warehouse area * Receive and process incoming raw material and ensure inventory process is followed correctly * Prepare finished products for final shipment including: packaging, documentation, loading and ensure on time delivery * Safely operate warehouse equipment, including: forklifts (stand-up and sit-down), order picker, automatic pallet wrapper and pallet jack * Perform Lean Initiatives by recommending suggestions for improvement related to quality, work processes, and environmental safety and health. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution. * Minimum of 2 years manufacturing, distribution, or military experience. * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. * No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Eaton El Paso, TX facility (50 mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation Preferred Qualifications: * Two or more years of warehouse experience in an industrial environment. * Computer literate. * Knowledge of AS400, VISTA and MAPICS systems * Knowledge of Lean and continuous process improvements * One or more years of forklift operation experience preferred Position Criteria: * Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem solving skills.
