The Warehouse Associate I performs a variety of material handling duties associated with the warehouse.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of warehouse duties such as pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy and completeness, inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product, maintain displays (tools, caulk, etc.), move, store, and replenish material, and conduct daily cycle counts.

  • Performs receiving duties such as receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims.

  • Maintains clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, etc.

  • May wait on customers and prepare sales slips.

  • Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education & Knowledge:

  • Requires high school diploma or GED

  • Certified Forklift Operator

Experience:

  • 2 or more years previous warehouse experience.

Competencies:

  • Basic math skills

  • Oganization skills

  • Customer service skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Fluency in English

  • Safety conscious

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance. The associate must lift and/or move up to 80 pounds regularly. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud. Description of Work: The primary purpose of this position is for the planning, administrative, and managerial work to develop, produce, and implement all museum exhibitions, educational programs, marketing activities, and historical publications for the North Carolina Museum of History, and to support the Division Director in the planning and management of the Division's regional and maritime museums. Position chairs directs, and oversees the museum's strategic, annual, marketing, and interpretative planning by setting institutional priorities, by identifying and setting long-and short-term goals and objectives, resource needs and funding opportunities, interpretative and marketing strategies, project schedules, and staffing assignments; directs special project teams and section chiefs in the development and completion of mission-driven work that utilizes the museum collection and historical research to interpret the collection and the state's history; monitors, facilitates, and evaluates project work to ensure that the staff accomplishes strategic plans and annual goals. Oversees staff in the development, documentation, and preservation of the museum's artifact collection, ensuring that all professional standards are adhered to regarding stewardship of the museum's collection; reviews interpretative content and evaluates project work results; collaborates with other professionals and outside peer organizations to identify and utilize relevant collections and historical research to develop exhibitions, programs, publications, and to provide quality patron assistance. Ability to collaborate with peers, advisory boards, and focus groups in developing appropriate exhibitions and programs. Must have the ability to make public appearances and presentations at professional conferences, meetings, and events. Management Preferences: Master's degree in museum studies, history, or public history, or a related area specific to the requirements of the position, with five years of experience in a museum or in a related cultural institution, including three years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience; Master's degree in museum studies, history, or public history with ten years of experience in a museum or in a related cultural institution, including five years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, is preferred.
