Kidwell is seeking highly-motivated individuals who possess the qualities of positivity, honesty, and attention to detail to fill the role of Warehouse Assistant. Candidates need great organizational skills and must be quality communicators. We want any employee or vendor that steps into our warehouse to see a highly organized facility.

Our Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for working with the Warehouse Team to effectively manage materials, tools, and machinery that enter and exit the warehouse. In addition, this position will work closely with the purchasing manager and other warehouse staff to make sure all material is received, processed, and delivered to the appropriate employee or job site.

What You'll Do:

Must be able to perform the following tasks and duties on a daily basis:

  • Coordinate with Warehouse Supervisor, Purchasing Manager, and Kidwell field employees to ensure timely material deliveries to job sites and other departments.

  • Assist in the continued organization and improvement of the company warehouse.

  • Assist with efficient inventory control such as maintaining accurate records in Spectrum as material is received or delivered to job site, participate in physical end of year inventory cycle, making recommendations to Purchasing Manager when identifying areas for efficiency.

  • Assist with shipping and receiving operations including material verification with purchase order (PO), checking for damaged goods, routing and preparing materials for delivery to job site, coordination with vendors for appropriate drop-off time and location.

  • Serve as secondary resource in the absence of Purchasing Manager, and/or, assist with Purchasing projects as assigned, such as cost analysis, forecasting and vendor management.

  • Assist with cleaning and janitorial duties throughout Kidwell warehouse and office buildings.

  • Vehicle and building maintenance including, but not limited to minor repairs and other duties as assigned

Do you have what it takes?

  • Must be able to work between the hours of 6am and 4pm

  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs

  • Working experience of vendor management software (i.e. Spectrum, Asset Panda, etc.)

  • Ability to gather and analyze data to make solid decisions based on logic and reason

  • Attention to detail (i.e. checking for correct quantity/delivery address/pricing)

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Class A CDL preferred but not required

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or other similar major preferred; and/or 2+ years relevant work experience in warehouse environment/logistics management

  • Previous experience operating a pallet jack required

  • Previous experience operating a forklift preferred

Computer Skills:

Individual must have experience in using all Microsoft Office programs

ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY JOB DUTIES * Reviews order board, work orders and pick tags to determine items to be pulled and distributed. Pulls and sorts items according to established guidelines. Prepares items for pick up or shipment. Contacts customers, technicians or other branches in regards to order status, as needed. Contacts shipping vendors to arrange pick up, as needed. Completes and files appropriate paperwork. * Receives and unloads daily warehouse shipments verifying items and quantities. Separates main store from branch inventory and reloads items as needed. Stocks items in appropriate spot in warehouse. Follows established process for 'No Loc' items. * Receives customer or technician returns and enters item back in to inventory via PC. Restocks items in designated spot in warehouse. Receives and processes battery returns following established guidelines. * Follows all safety policies and procedures including contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations. Reports potentially unsafe conditions. Uses equipment and materials properly. Attends safety meetings as required. * Performs frequent error/audit checks by reviewing bin count report. Searches and locates missing item or researches discrepancy updating inventory or generating an exception order as appropriate. * Provides high level of customer service by assisting customers (walk-in/phone) with requests in a timely manner. Refers technical questions to appropriate personnel. * Fabricates (measure, cut, clean, etc.) hoses for customer orders, as needed. * May perform other duties as required and assigned. Such as some inventory control functions including stock order placements and min/max system settings.
