WALL MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST
Wall Maintenance Specialists are responsible for the stripping and cleaning of the climbing walls at Bouldering Project. Individuals in this position will regularly work one to three times per week and occasionally more, in preparation for events. Wall Maintenance Specialists are responsible for working safely and efficiently to prepare the climbing areas for setting rotations. They will also maintain in good condition all wall sections in the climbing area, as well as wash and sort climbing, holds, bolts/screws, and volumes.

Maintain an excellent relationship with the Head Routesetter, setting team members, local staff, and local leadership - providing feedback and taking direction when necessary
Maintain the highest possible standards of risk management and be in constant pursuit of ways to mitigate risk
Follow all work zone and safety/hazard procedures laid out by BP and the Head Routesetter
Collaborate with other gym staff to help meet the needs of other departments and the gym as a whole
Receive and execute assignments as prescribed by the Head Routesetter
Remove modular climbing holds, volumes, tape, chalk, rubber, and detritus from climbing walls in a safe and efficient manner.
Safely use approved cleaning products and procedures to thoroughly wash climbing surfaces, holds and volumes
Maintain clean and functioning climbing walls.
Wash and organize holds following directions of Head SetterSort bolts, screws, and other setting supplies following direction from the Head Routesetter
Organize and maintain Setting and Wall Maintenance supplies and tools
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the setting shop
Assessment and re-dying damaged bolts to maximize their useful life.
Coordinating with the Head Setter to ensure all the tools and equipment (screws, bolts, tape, brushes, drills, etc.) needed for setting are in good working order and stocked.
Volume assessment and maintenance including t-nut repairs, cleaning, organizing, and rotating.
Perform maintenance on customer stick brushes.
Clean and maintain the chalk eaters or electrostatic units throughout the gym
Perform general handyperson tasks throughout the gym.
Perform T-nut repairs throughout the gym, when necessary.
Assist with pads and tarp repairs as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity working with power tools and ladders and comfort working at heights is required
Ability to move 50lbs on soft flooring
Demonstrated ability to work well with a team
Good communication skills and the ability to provide, receive, and implement feedback
Passion for climbing and community development
WORKING CONDITIONS
Wall Maintenance Specialists work as a team during operating hours. Shifts are scheduled 1-3 times per week (usually during early morning hours), and work is performed until the job is completed to communicated standards. Duties occasionally require the availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs and events, including possible evenings and weekends. These duties may occur before and after regular business hours.
