Maxar is currently seeking a V&V Software Test Engineer to join our team in San Jose, CA or Westminster, CO. In this role, you will work with Systems Engineers and Software developers to verify flight embedded software on commercial and civil satellites performing missions involving communication, earth observation and lunar gateway activities.

Your Project: As a member of a team of Software Test Engineers, you will be working with requirements, developing domain knowledge, test plans, test procedures and executing tests in an environment utilizing software and hybrid testbeds.

What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):

• Develop domain knowledge on Attitude Control Subsystems and Data Handling software associated with satellite command, guidance and navigation, telemetry, power management, thermal, fault detection, mechanism and payload subsystems

• Develop test plans derived from software requirements

• Compile test bed requirements to support test plan

• Support development and validation of test beds

• Create test procedures - automated and manual, if required

• Perform complex tests

• Analyze test data and create test reports

• Drive policy and lead V&V group technically

Minimum requirements for this position:

• Must be a U.S. citizen

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, aerospace/controls engineering, physics or related field PLUS a minimum of 2 years of professional experience with software testing.

• Test experience on aerospace/space/avionics product

• Embedded software test experience

• Experience testing in a simulated and/or hardware environment (ie. experience with interfacing electrical hardware)

• Experience of working in an agile environment

These skills would be amazing:

• Knowledge/experience in orbit dynamics and attitude control

• Knowledge/experience in coordinate transformations in Euler Angles and Quaternions

• Knowledge/experience with one or more of the DHS subsystems listed above

• Python and/or Java skills

• Experience with DOORS

• Experience with CMMI process

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate's unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$92,000.00 - $151,000.00 annually.
