We have an exciting opportunity for a Vulnerability Assessment Specialist to join our team. Our Client is looking for a resource to fill an opening within their scanning team. The ideal candidate should have experience with Nessus or similar vulnerability scanning software, knowledge of scan architecture sufficient enough to analyze and recommend changes as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts vulnerability scans and recognizes exploitable vulnerabilities in security systems when preparing audit reports

  • Assists in the coordination of technical tests, network scans, and/or vulnerability scans that support the evaluation of information safeguard effectiveness

  • Reviews threat and vulnerability assessment findings to quantify and prioritize vulnerabilities in a system.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Extensive experience (7+ years) in information security operations and/or related IT operational functions

  • Experience with Tenable Nessus or similar vulnerability scanning software

  • Skill in systems engineering, requirements analysis, system development, software development, or hardware development as applied to the information assurance or cyber security field

  • One or more of the following certifications:

o CompTIA Security+ CE

o CPTE - Certified Penetration Testing Engineer

o CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker

o Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)

  • Candidate must be a US citizen or permanent resident

Desired Experience/Skills:

  • Skill in the areas of container security and scanning as well as web application security and scanning

Education: Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Security (Masters Degree preferred).
