Wintrust Business Credit is recruiting for a Portfolio Manager to join our Asset Based Lending Team in our loop office. This position works closely with bankers and customers across all 15 Wintrust Community Bank locations. The Portfolio Manager assists the team with underwriting and documentation of loan requests and performs economic and industry analysis, financial projections and risk assessments.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Perform Collateral analysis and assist with ordering, reviewing and analysis of field exams.

  • Spread and interpret financial statements to minimize risk and maximize credit quality. Review and maintain credit files to monitor and update information as needed.

  • Prepare and deliver loan presentations

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years experience in a commercial banking credit underwriting or portfolio manager role

  • Bachelors degree (Business, Finance, Accounting preferred)

  • Superior business writing and communication skills with the ability to communicate with CFOs and attorneys

  • Field exam experience a plus but not required.

Job Summary Responsible for underwriting, credit monitoring and portfolio management of Commercial/Corporate/Specialized Banking relationships to achieve efficiencies and quality of the process and product, retention and expansion of existing client relationship, growth of total client assets and net growth in relationships. Primary performance responsibilities include analyzing financial data to determine the merits of loan requests (including adherence to loan policy), recommending structure, collecting financial statements, as well as identifying cross selling/referring opportunities of other deposits services. As a Portfolio Manager, this position will maintain and build loans and deposits, fee income and referrals of business. Secondary management of certain accounts may be expected from senior level performers. At a senior level, one may be responsible for training and development of more junior portfolio managers.
