Job Description

Sr. Associates/Vice Presidents play a key role supporting origination, opportunity evaluation and deal execution, working on a broad scope of assignments across all industries and products aligned with one of the 6 geographic regions: Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, Pacific Northwest and Pacific Southwest. They will work closely with the RM responsible for that region as well as Industry & Product partners and are expected to make an immediate contribution. Key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a key resource working closely with GCB and Wealth Management RMs, industry and product partners to proactively generate ideas and solutions to meet client needs

  • Key support resource to senior bankers in day-to-day client coverage

  • Function as the key point of contact for the group, responsible for coordinating information flow and execution of work product with product groups, internal and external legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory parties

  • Lead due diligence sessions

  • Supervise the preparation and execution of final client presentation work product

  • Communicate and interact with deal team members and clients

  • Be a team player and culture carrier

  • Supervise and train junior personnel

  • Senior Associate (band 6) level experience will also be considered

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred

  • 4-5 years of experience in Investment Banking at a top-tier firm

  • Have comparable combination of education and related experience

  • Full breadth of financing (equity, equity linked and debt) and strategic advisory experience

  • Professional maturity and experience to interact directly with client and drive origination and execution

  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills

  • Demonstrated strategic and creative thinking and distinguished communication skills

  • Ability to manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of a team

  • Assertiveness, initiative, leadership, strong work ethic, team focus

  • Existing local connectivity preferred

The Technical Transaction Team (TTT) team sits within and is a critical element of the 60+ person J.P. Morgan North American Oil and Gas Investment Bank. We have a global mandate and are a part of the Global Oil and Gas Team with offices in Houston, New York, Calgary, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Sao Paulo. We are principally focused on executing sell-side and buy-side asset and corporate advisory roles in the upstream and midstream space, but also support the banking team in IPOs, debt offerings, net asset valuation work, developing industry thought pieces and providing general technical insight. Requirements: * BS in Geology.
