The People Analytics & Operations team within Gartner derives actionable insights from workforce data to recommend and implement better ways of attracting, developing, and retaining Gartner associates to drive growth, higher sales, more productivity, and better client experiences. We drive impact on Gartner's Mission Critical Priorities by leveraging state of the art technology, analytics, and processes.

The Vice President of Workforce Planning will be a strategic leader within the People Analytics & Operations team. This role will be at the forefront of Gartner's workforce strategy by preparing the organization for different growth scenarios considering external and internal opportunities and challenges. The Vice President of Workforce Planning will enable Gartner growth by directing it to locations that maximize talent availability and business effectiveness, while establishing long term financial goals.

What you'll do:

Build an organization to deliver three critical capabilities to support Gartner's growth:

Scenario Planning

  • Build and maintain multiple, multi-year workforce plans utilizing insights from Gartner's business strategy, historical trends, financial performance, competitive risks and the macroeconomic environment

  • Understand and incorporate BU- and Region-level drivers to maintain appropriate detail in scenarios to represent likely ranges of growth and risk

  • Inform and prepare key stakeholders to support likely workforce scenarios, including Talent Acquisition, HR, Finance and Real Estate

Location Strategy

  • Develop targeted analyses for workforce and office expansion, including supply, demand, cost and risk, to inform decisions supporting future workforce growth

  • Forecast and monitor growth rates and workforce composition across key locations to support initiatives across Real Estate, Tax, Finance, HR and Communications

  • Conduct ongoing exploratory analysis across roles and regions to identify opportunities to improve supply/demand/cost/risk profile of Gartner's workforce locations

  • Work closely with key business leaders and HR to understand business goals and priorities for growth to inform strategy

Operational Workforce Planning

  • Partner with HR and Finance to operationalize location and workforce planning strategies in line with enterprise objectives and business priorities

  • Coordinate monthly reviews of headcount and associated run-rate costs to ensure workforce plans are in line with targets, and Talent Acquisition, Real Estate, HR and Finance are aligned on actions needed to meet annual plans

  • Develop and provide periodic (quarterly and monthly) reporting around workforce metrics by business and location to the leadership team, operating committee, as well as to enable infrastructure-focused teams in RE, HR and IT

  • Manage and administer Workforce Planning tools, analytics, and processes that enable scenario planning and execution related to organizational size, location, composition and structure

What You'll Need:

  • Demonstrated strong analytical, organizational, communication and leadership skills at all levels

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in HR, Finance, Real Estate, Business / Location Strategy, M&A with end-user organizations or consultancy, preferably both. International project experience preferred

  • Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate with senior leadership to drive decisions

  • Proficiency in managing through influence and driving decisions grounded in data across multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to provide direction to and coordinate with global project team members, anticipate and manage risks, set appropriate expectations and consistently deliver strong results

  • Ability to establish trusted partner relationships and manage expectations within a very collaborative internal team culture, with key stakeholders and a wide range of external consultants and vendors

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 158,000 USD - 220,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates.
