The Corporate Tax Leader plays a key role in enabling the organization to deliver on its promises by providing leadership and direction to the Tax team as well as provide strategic tax solutions while ensuring compliance, timely filing and/or response to inquiries. As a leader of this function you will:
Create, develop and execute tax planning and compliance strategies
Review and monitor tax positions and tax attributes of the company and identify opportunities and risks in current and future business plans
Identifies issues and develops strategies to mitigate tax exposure
Optimize tax profile for the company, identifies trends, and develops plans for continuous improvement
Identify, review and implement tax planning opportunities
Monitor changes in tax legislation and act on changes applicable to the businesses
Primary contact for all entities for external tax advisors, auditors, accountants, tax consultants and legal counsel as related to tax audits, findings, settlements or litigation
Oversee all audits of federal, state and local income tax filings
Establish policies and procedures to ensure tax filings are complete and timely filed with proper authorities
Establish policies and procedures to ensure timely responses to notices received from federal, state and local tax authorities and to manage risk
Monitor federal and state tax legislations, regulations, and judicial activities and keep executive management informed of pending changes or requirements and how they will impact our businesses
Analyze and integrate proposed and completed mergers and acquisitions, including oversight of tax due diligence and structuring recommendations
Review tax estimates and projections, as well as the completion of required tax filings, forms, and correspondences and quarterly withholdings/estimated payments
Communication with a wide audience including internal and external auditors, state taxing agencies, operations, accounting, IT and Legal to relative to complicated tax matters
Develop and set goals/objectives for the tax department and monitor performance against goals; provides leadership, recognition, and talent development opportunities for tax colleagues
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field. Master's degree in Taxation, MBA or JD preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing
15+ years of hands-on experience in tax and/or finance (including 5 years managing the tax function) with advanced knowledge of tax legal regulations, requirements, and trends for multiple geographic areas
Advanced knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
Familiarity with technologies that are used to efficiently complete tax requirements
