  • 3300 full-time associates across Supply Chain

  • Nine large Furniture Distribution Centers located in Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, and Newark, totaling 7.5 million square feet

  • 38 delivery hubs in cities larger than 750,000 in population

  • Four small package e-commerce Distribution Centers located in Memphis, TN, Olive Branch, MS, and our newest, most automated location in Litchfield, AZ, totaling more than 4 million sq ft, consisting of 1200 full-time associates and 5000 seasonal/temporary associates

  • 4 Sutter Street Upholstery Factories located in North Carolina and Mississippi with over 1,400 FTEs producing approximately $900 million to $1 Billion in sales of Upholstered furniture

Position Summary

Williams-Sonoma Inc.'s Supply Chain organization is the backbone of our company. Reporting to our Executive VP of Regional Operations, the VP of Operations will lead strategic planning, annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and daily execution, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

In addition, the position is responsible for all supply chain activities associated with customer and furniture order fulfillment and on-time deliveries. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in big box distribution, 3PL vendor management, team leadership, a passion for quality, and analytical skills to uphold the company's various goals and strategies.

The VP of Supply Chain Operations position is in our South Brunswick, NJ facility.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Drive initiatives related to Showroom Quality in-home delivery performance for both company-owned and 3PL home delivery hubs

  • Apply continuous improvement strategies to build upon industry-leading returns/replacement performance

  • Lead and enhance the monthly financial review for the ECDC network, demonstrating continued progress toward establishing on-time, quality, and cost metrics

  • Standardize operational best practices and processes across sites

  • Maintain an impressive track record of on-time delivery, cost reductions, and increased efficiency

  • Oversee daily operational activities and ensuring performance targets are met

  • Initiate enhancements and quality improvements

  • Identify and implement cost-saving and process improvement while keeping executive leadership informed

  • Monitor and report on operational performance metrics

  • Drive organizational efficiency and effectiveness

  • Build bench strength within the network and across the Supply Chain organization

  • Build bench strength via internal talent development, succession planning, and outside recruiting, ensuring an ample supply of talent

  • Engage with external partners, suppliers, and industry leaders to enhance business opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or technical field a must

  • Minimum 10 - 15 years of experience in big box retailer/supply chain experience

  • Experience managing multiple P&L's

  • Experience managing various methods of transportation including but not limited to big and bulky, parcel, and pool replenishment

  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain or furniture operations

  • Technical skills in end-to-end inventory management

  • Working knowledge of network design and optimization

  • Strong strategic, consulting, problem-solving, and conceptual skills

  • Ability to build strong relationships and partner with various levels of management in all WSI locations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate complex concepts to multiple audiences

  • Ability to manage and work with/through a matrix organization

  • Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office products and other analytical data software
