Role Overview:

This position serves as the "face" of Advisory Consulting Services to advisors in the field. The primary objective of the employee in this role will be to facilitate, educate, coach, and train advisors

and their staffs on the benefits of LPL's advisory/fee-based platforms, with the goal of increasing advisors' acceptance, usage, and effectiveness with advisory solutions. The primary means of measurement as to the effectiveness of the employee will be increased advisory platform adoption, penetration and sales, as measured versus the territory's goal. "Mid-Atlantic Territory", is comprised of SC, NC, VA, WV, DC, MD, KY and OH. The employee must reside in either North or South Carolina.

Essential Functions:

1.Increase advisory sales across a broad-based territory comprised of LPL advisors within multiple channels (IAR, RIA).

  • Meet sales objectives for the assigned territory.

  • Travel within the assigned territory an average of 2-3 days per week.

  • Hold a minimum of 16 meetings per week with advisors.

  • Leverage sponsor partners in the field to bring value added education to advisors.

  • Represent the outlook and themes of LPL Research in the field.

  • Partner with internal LPL business units such as Business Consulting and Business Development.

  • Manage a territory travel and entertainment budget

  • Work with internal partners (dedicated internal advisory consultant and internal product specialist) to develop strategies that will lead to increased advisory sales for advisors.
    2.Partner with IAS Business Development to assist in recruiting as well as other internal LPL teams to support their initiatives

  • Participate in individual joint meetings with recruiters and their targeted recruits

  • Participate in Home Office Visits, both home office based and those exported to the field.

  • Work with branch managers to assist them in their direct recruiting efforts by helping to tell the competitive LPL advisory story to reps they are actively recruiting

  • Partner with the Private Client, Retirement Partners, Financial Planning, Business Solutions and Product teams to support their efforts directly in the field through one-on-one meetings and workshops.
    3.Participate as a representative of Advisory Consulting at LPL and industry events

  • Focus Conferences

  • LPL Advisory University workshops within the assigned territory

  • Top producer conferences such as Masters, Advisory Leaders Forum, Business Leaders Forum, and Advanced Wealth Management Symposium

  • LPL Advisory and Research Due Diligence Meetings

  • Sponsor partner due diligence meetings and divisional/national sales meetings

  • Large Enterprise (OSJ) Meetings

Other Job Duties:

1.On occasion, the Regional Advisory Consultant will have the opportunity to engage in consumer facing activities such as HNW and Institutional meetings alongside advisors.

Additional information:

Externally, this position interacts with advisors who own their businesses (consider them CEO's), branch managers running large enterprises, wholesalers, and middle and senior management at sponsor firms.

Internally, this position interacts with middle and senior management at LPL.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (focus in: Finance, Economics, Marketing or other business related field desired)

  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Services, Wholesaling, Financial Advisement

  • FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 or 66 required.

  • Must be able to travel within the territory on a weekly basis.

  • Microsoft Office

Preferences:

  • MBA/CFP/CFA/CIMA preferred.

  • Salesforce CRM experience

  • Detailed knowledge of investments, fee-based platforms, asset management firms and competing broker/dealers is preferred.

Communication skills are extremely important. Excellent verbal skills, as well as excellent presentation skills are a must.

Demonstrated sales success is highly desired.

Ability to be flexible and adaptive is necessary.

Creativity and problem-solving skills.

Detail-oriented and highly organized.

Pay Range:

$164,000-$246,000/year

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
