E*TRADE seeks a motivated self-starter for a high-profile position in the Market Risk Group. This position will focus on developing models used for Market Risk management and Balance Sheet Stress Testing.

Prior experience developing relationships between macro-economic factors and deposit balances, MBS prepayments (single family and multi-family), and consumer credit defaults. Knowledge of financial products is essential, including a detailed understanding of term structure modeling, fixed income mathematics and cash flow modeling techniques.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for development, maintenance and enhancement of quantitative/analytic models and applications in support of the firm's market risk management effort

Enhance risk analytics in interest rate risk and credit risk using PCA, VaR, and stochastic modeling techniques

Develop code to incorporate models into PolyPaths

Preparation of developmental evidence and document to support internal and external inquiries

Partner with various internal groups including Treasury, Risk, and Model Risk Management to provide model transparency and enhance analytics capability

Applies advanced knowledge to produce advanced analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand complex business objectives and influence investment decisions

Requirements:

MS or PhD in relevant quantitative and finance fields (finance, statistics, economics, etc)
10+ years' work experience in fixed income quantitative modeling role

Working knowledge of time series methods, panel data analysis and Monte Carlo simulation

Understanding of how quantitative methods can be applied to finance and banking

Non-maturity deposit modeling experience

Experience with PolyPaths, BlackRock, Intex and Trepp

Strong verbal/written communication and project management skills

Ability to manage and mentor junior staff

Principals work closely with C-level executives to identify and produce research that solve complex business challenges on a global scale. As a Principal on this team, you will: Key Responsibilities * Dissect problems using qualitative and quantitative research and analysis skills, inductive and deductive reasoning, abstract thinking and root-cause analysis * Lead new-to-world quantitative research workstreams, including survey modeling, design, and question writing * Analyze large data sets using advanced statistical techniques to identify actionable insights for senior executives * Engage executives from Fortune 500- and mid- size companies to identify their most pressing business challenges. * Translate research and survey results into actionable recommendations that clients can implement * Convert research and survey results into clear narratives and visually-compelling presentations designed to teach senior clients * Drive research outcomes through collaboration of multidisciplinary teams * Directly lead, develop, and motivate one or more members of the research team.
