Avera is currently seeking a highly motivated VP of Patient Financial Services with strong project management skills!

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the System's Revenue Cycle Management Executive, the Vice President of Patient Financial Services will provide executive direction of business office operations for acute, ambulatory, @Home, Long Term Care, Community Care FQHCs, and patient bad debt collections. This position is a key leadership position in Avera's Revenue Cycle, contributing to financial strength, compliance and overall performance by leading all billing and collections functions for the organization. The Vice President of Patient Financial Services will responsible for integrating, monitoring and facilitating improvement in the overall quality, timeliness, completeness and accuracy of processes for all facilities under Avera Health.

Education and/or Experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of revenue cycle experience required;

  • Proven success in change management and process re-engineering;

  • Strong project management skills;

  • Strong personnel management skills;

  • Experience working in a matrix reporting structure;

  • Demonstrated skills in problem assessment and resolution;

  • Strong leadership, customer service skills, demonstrating persuasion, collaboration and diplomacy skills;

  • Experience working in and with multiple IT systems required;

  • Experience in a MEDITECH environment is preferred;

  • Strong knowledge of databases, business intelligence and other IT solutions;

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;

  • Strong executive presence;

  • Must be a motivated individual with a positive and exceptional work ethic;

  • Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical and computer (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, other database software, etc.) skills;

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, take initiative, be flexible, and perform multiple tasks;

  • Self-starter with a well-developed aptitude for quantitative analysis capable of working with minimal oversight to set priorities, solve problems or meet needs

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field. Masters preferred.
