SUMMARY

The VP of West Region Operations is responsible for operations leadership in the areas of selecting talent, developing leaders, guest experience, creating long term growth, and building a strong culture. The VP will oversee 100+ restaurants and have responsibility for leading and directing a team of Area Managers. They will be accountable for leading operators to achieve outstanding performance that contributes to Noodles & Company growth as well as participating in strategic planning and development process. The VP must lead and inspire the region to deliver consistent execution, a great guest experience, and profitable sales growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the regional team responsible for executing company strategy in the restaurants

  • Contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance of the restaurants

  • Use analytical insights from both internal and external sources to provide strategic leadership and vision to ensure execution of operations and training for the company

  • Direct and coordinate financial and budget process and collaborate on the annual business plan for the region and company

  • Build high performing teams by giving direction in the areas of people selection and development

  • Accountable for sales growth and profitability of company-owned restaurants

  • Value the input of team members at every level to institute and execute best operational practices

  • Build a culture that drives retention

  • Provide leadership for the field support teams to achieve company goals

  • Support the executive team in executing the company's strategic direction

  • Proactively create and maintain succession planning for General Manager's, Area Manager's and Regional Directors of Operations

  • Maintain continual awareness of industry trends and brand goals on competitive practices and changes

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to identify talent and a proven track record of building great teams and developing leaders

  • Ability to manage and oversee rapid growth strategies

  • Experience overseeing (dotted line responsibility) Marketing, Real Estate, Training, Finance and HR

  • Strong ability to strategize and clearly articulate a vision

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to interact with all levels of the company

  • Must have demonstrated experience in developing and administering complex strategies and philosophies, as well as the ability to balance strategic thinking with detailed focus on execution

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 15 years experience required, preferably in the restaurant industry

  • Experience must include leadership of 50+ unit concept

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Clear understanding of restaurant operations

  • Previous development experience a plus

  • Must have experience in field marketing, training, finance and HR

  • Experience working cross-functionally to achieve business objectives

  • Must have experience leading a business or region of a business
