OBJECTIVE:

As the leader of the technology vision of CEC this position is responsible for ensuring the company is prepared with the next generation platforms, tools, and analytics to succeed. Prioritize and build vendor and partner relationships and be CEC's technology voice in the industry. Oversee the talent development at CEC, driving our internal roadmap for technical talent development ensuring the continued growth of our people. In our customer boardrooms, be a thought leader and trusted advisor for their long-term success with the application and management of core business infrastructure. Be a cross functional partner in the executive management of the CEC business.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Technology Vision: Through study, customer participation, participation with staff, vendor 1`engagement, and industry leadership define and communicate the technology vision for the organization.

  • CEC Technology Roadmap: Guide industry perspectives on technology applications to enhance our customers' business outcomes. Prioritize and cultivate vendor and partner relationships that ensure CEC's long-term success and profitability. Oversee and negotiate distribution agreements and key vendor partnerships. Collaborate with the Leadership team to develop a strategic roadmap and achieve deliverables.

  • Technical Team Development: Identify talent needs and certifications to support our technology strategy and ensure we meet required tier levels with our core vendors. Create a life-long-learning environment for career pathing and recruitment into CEC technical roles. Lead core internal communication and knowledge development processes. Directly manage CEC Engineering Team and collaborate with Operations Team on technical standards for Technicians.

  • In Market Focus: Serve as a key support in boardroom-level discussions regarding CEC's role as a Systems Integration Specialist. This involves utilizing tools like Strategic System Assessment, applying specific vendor technology to customer strategies, and collaborating closely with their IT/IS teams. Collect customer information to strengthen CEC's market positioning and technological strategy. This position is expected to serve as a proficient presenter, delivering current market trends to our industry on behalf of CEC's technology initiatives.

  • Deliverables: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate and present reports, data, and recommendations for each Product Definition. This involves conducting thorough data analysis, developing comprehensive documents that detail the specifications, features, and technical requirements of each product, and ensuring rigorous review processes are followed.

  • Support Pricing: Translate customer needs into integration specifications to enable engineering & development teams to quote proposed work in accordance with company margin goals. With Engineering and Operations leadership establishes technology standards for use in consulting, quoting, implementation, and services.

  • Vendor & Industry Networking: Finding CEC's positioning in this evolving marketspace is a key deliverable of this position. It requires working closely with vendor partners and industry thought leaders to define the market opportunity that we will lean into. Providing this thought leadership and promoting CEC capabilities both internally and externally.

  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION RESULTS DESCRIPTION

  • Customer Engagement - with VP Sales and Engineering Director establish calendar for engagement with Enterprise level accounts.

  • Direct Billability- Establish billability parameters for Engineering and this position.

  • Product Roadmap Definition- prioritize product definition & creation in strategic planning and annual product roadmap.

  • Identify top vendor platform for middleware & API integration. Lead data integration understanding with internal development team.

  • Participate in Financial model development and building 2-year plan.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly manage CEC Engineering Team, Service Delivery and Technical Masters teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 7+ years as thought leader in core low voltage technologies and/or emerging infrastructure and data technologies.

  • Lifelong learner with demonstrable talents in data integrations, analytics, IT/IS, or building systems.

  • Executive level P&L management experience

  • 4-year college degree

  • This job is primarily located in a private office.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
