As the VP of Talent Management, you're a highly visible leader who ensures industry leading solutions drive the company's competitiveness, enable high performance of the employees, and align to business strategy and culture.
You'll be the key in driving the development, design, delivery, benchmarking, and metrics for our talent management solutions and services. As a talent practice leader, you'll use innovative design thinking strategies to connect the business with client needs and engage specific talent pools while executing an aggressive talent acquisition strategy.
Other key areas of focus include:
Lead the transformation of the talent acquisition and talent management strategies to improve the alignment to workforce planning, creating a robust talent pipeline, enhancing our quality of hire, candidate experience, and manager effectiveness in conjunction with the internal development and mobility of our employees at Principal.
Collaborate with business and HR leaders to develop and communicate a strong vision and global strategy for onboarding, learning and development, leadership development, employee engagement, coaching and mentoring, career development, succession planning, and organizational development which aligns with achieving strategic business goals, including process and experience end to end.
Ensure that team building, interventions, curriculum, and coaching is designed and delivered to both individuals and teams across the organization.
Utilize best-in-class talent development processes for assessment, design, development, communication, delivery, metrics, and reporting.
Oversee the development and implementation of enterprise-wide executive assessment, succession and leadership development strategies.
Lead the design and implementation of Principal's executive development process (including internal program design, external program selection/customization, identification and alignment of strategic experiential learning opportunities, and facilitation of mentoring/peer coaching).
Oversee the corporate-wide succession planning process (for executive level positions - VP and above).
Oversee the talent management administration including benchmarking of practices, metrics, and design.
Prepare and present summaries for the Board, Committee(s) and Executive Management.
Effectively communicate trends, legislation changes, and other relevant data on a timely basis.
Bachelor's degree required with advanced degree preferred.
15+ years of progressive Human Resources Leadership experience.
5+ years of recent global executive experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated successful experience leading the design and execution of solutions that drive measurable organizational performance.
Have a passion for personal learning and development to be able to grow with the company.
Deep knowledge in the areas of talent strategy and related components, competency models and their practical application, talent assessment and development, modern management practices, innovative working styles and leadership development program design and implementation.
Proven experience in diagnosing organization capability requirements and translating these into practical applications, including leader development and talent management practices, processes and programs.
Knowledge and experience with change management methodologies and leading and facilitating large-scale organization/transformational change initiatives.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with extensive experience creating presentations.
Ability to work well under pressure, juggle tasks and work efficiently against deadlines.
Strength in using data and metrics, and experience creating and managing a context of decision-oriented data.
Exceptional executive presence and presentation skills.
Travel globally required (10%), including overnight stays.
This position is open to locations across the United States including the ability to work from home depending on qualifications, experience, and skillset. If located outside of Des Moines, IA, significant travel to Des Moines would be a part of this role.
