Summary of Duties
The VP of Professional Services has overall responsibility and accountability for OHSU Tuality performance in the following areas: Laboratory, Pharmacy, Diagnostic Imaging, Environmental Services, Food & Nutrition, Safety, Security, Engineering & Environment of Care. The VP will report directly to the President and CEO, and be responsible for setting the vision to fully integrate the areas of assigned responsibility and be accountable for crafting the strategy that will support further ancillary/professional service alignment locally and across the system. This leader will build an infrastructure that will improve operational efficiency and provide greater access to services locally and across the system.
Organization Strategy and Implementation: Work with other leaders and providers to ensure effective execution of business strategies by aligning people strategies with business requirements to drive high performance.
Fiscal Management: Work with other leaders and providers to maintain a fiscally sound, market-leading operating environment that promotes competitive delivery models, generates value, and provides outstanding care. Involved in managing the operating and capital budgets for areas of responsibility. Aggressively mitigate all variances to budget. Make sound decisions on best use of resources in support of OHSU Health priorities and strategies.
Human Resource Management: Provide leadership in building a strong interdisciplinary team, which will assume responsibility and accountability for achieving the mission, financial/operational objectives, and quality incentives while remaining compliant to regulatory standards. Establish clearly defined goals and objectives and ensure follow through in a timely manner.
Quality, Safety, and Ideal Patient Experience: Will be a clinical leader of quality and safety initiatives and standards for OHSU Tuality Healthcare, including leading by example providing the optimal patient experience and ensuring a just culture. Provide leadership and guidance in the development and implementation of ongoing programs to improve performance and manage costs while improving the quality of patient care delivery. Achieve/exceed performance expectations throughout operations.
Organizational Leadership: Work with other leaders and administrators to create a collaborative model of care for patients across OHSU Health.
Budget responsibility and direct reports: The Laboratory, Pharmacy, Diagnostic Imaging, Environmental Services, Food & Nutrition, Safety, Security, Engineering & Environment of Care leadership at the site level will have a direct reporting line to the Vice President of Professional Services.
Minimum 10 years' progressive experience in related field.
Minimum 7 years' in healthcare leadership/decision making roles.
Minimum 5 years' experience in managing personnel.
Experience working effectively with physicians both in employed and independent practices, with evidence of successes accomplished through partnerships.
2+ years' experience in Director level role.
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:
Lean, Six Sigma or other disciplined process improvement certification strongly preferred.

Articulate, able to listen, and responsive to legitimate concerns.
Demonstrated knowledge of wide variety of clinical services, both ambulatory and acute care.
Requires strong leadership, creativity, high energy, strong knowledge base in service line management, organizational development, strategic planning, and financial analysis.
Ability to recruit, lead, coach, and develop employees to assist them in being successful in their job functions.
Demonstrates emotional intelligence in both internal and external settings and engenders respect among peers and the care.
Bilingual skills a plus
