As the Vice President of People, you will work to engage and develop our people as they progress through their careers at Capella. You will lead and build a world class people team, delivering exceptional results across people operations ranging from benefits administration to learning and development. You will have a comprehensive understanding of the team member lifecycle from hire to exit and strive to build a seamless, stellar experience at each stage. You are passionate about people, are inspired by our mission and know how to shepherd a companys HR systems, processes and culture through different growth stages. We are looking for someone that will raise the bar to attract top talent and champion Capellas innovative and inclusive work culture by partnering with a lean People Ops team and growing it to match business needs.
Lead, grow and develop a budding People team of 3-4 people, with opportunities to expand as the organization grows in the US and internationally
Ideate and execute a cohesive strategy on recruitment, retainment, and development of talent at Capella
Manage the day to day operations for all things related to human resources
Shepard and continue to shape Capella as an amazing place to work
Provide best practices and institute best in class programs for onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, long-term organizational planning, and individual contributor and manager/executive training
Lead and improve our benefits and compensation programs
Improve and scale performance management programs
Lead management training and up-leveling
Own employee and employer compliance programs across our sites
Be a trusted strategic partner and advisor to the executive team and people managers
A progressive and modern approach to people operations
Experience growing HR functions and processes across multiple offices and internationally
High social and emotional intelligence - you truly enjoy mentoring team members and cultivating strong relationships with all types of people
Proven track record of scaling human resource functions in hyper-growth organizations specifically in venture backed startups
Roll up your sleeves person that can manage, lead and implement everything from strategy to execution
Management experience leading a growing team of different sizes both on-site and remote
Excellent knowledge of culture, HR best practices and industry standards
Experience establishing relationships as a trusted advisor to executive team members
The ability to recruit, train and develop an amazing people ops team
Prior experience in technical and non-technical recruiting
In-depth knowledge and ownership of compensation and HR analytics programs
What would set you apart:
7-10 years of progressive HR or People Ops leadership experience
Strong thought leadership and best practices in People Ops
Consulting experience and a broad exposure to technology organizations a plus
Demonstrated leadership and strong personal presence
Take initiative, are results-oriented, and act with a sense of urgency
Adhere to a roll up your sleeves approach to solving problems, prioritizing and getting things done
PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification a plus
