The VP of Operations objective is to provide leadership and guidance to the project delivery and service, branch teams in the West Region. Has responsibility for the revenue and gross margin for the region, development and execution of key processes, systems, safety, and working with the branch team members in the Operations group. The position is key to the continued growth and the operational, financial, customer satisfaction, and safety success of the business.


  • Accountable for the financial results (revenue and gross margin) of all branch teams.

  • Owns the process execution of all Operational functions at the region/branch level including monthly/quarterly reviews as well as tracking and reporting key metrics.

  • Leads the project and service contract review process for the region to ensure compliance to standard practices.

  • Review and assist with Service Base growth and retention strategies for each branch.

  • Reviews branch Operational org structures/staffing to ensure local teams can execute existing and future work effectively.

  • Drive recruitment and hiring of key operations personnel in the region with our Branch teams and Recruitment/HR teams.

  • Ensures branch teams are effectively billing contracts and projects as well as driving monthly cash collections.

  • Works with key external and internal customers to establish relationships that result in better business outcomes.

  • Ensures that quality standards are assigned, measured, and met.

  • Drives a culture of safety following required safety activities.

  • Responsible to manage several workflows simultaneously.

  • Responsible to drive decisions across multiple groups across the entire team (inside and outside of operations).

Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or technical school or 10 years related experience.

  • Minimum of five (5) years project and/or service management experience in HVAC, Bundled Energy Solutions or related construction field.

  • Proven experience managing Projects and Service personnel.

  • Experience in complex projects involving multiple subcontractors with multiple month schedules.

  • Experience in managing a Service business.

  • Experience working with and understanding profit and loss financial statements, project costing, and contract profitability.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, effectively present information, and respond to questions from top management, customers, and service personnel.

  • Must have working knowledge of office equipment and Microsoft Office products to include but not limited to Microsoft Projects, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Ability to travel 50%

This includes sale of Netsmart Software products including licenses, maintenance, consulting and hosting services to meet and exceed key business measurements for our Clients. This individual will grow, develop and manage Netsmart clients. They will work with these clients to create and maintain long-term client relationships. A critical success factor will be to ensure a client's health and satisfaction with Netsmart offerings. Responsibilities will include generating new business with current clients through alignment plans that utilize Netsmart products, consulting and hosting services. He/she will analyze the policy and tactical needs of their clients and use this information in creating client roadmaps. Responsibilities: * Accountable for Netsmart Client Alignment Executive targets including licenses, maintenance, hosting, solutions and services * Proactively manages Public Sector Clients and closing opportunities using extensive process knowledge and health and human services and software product expertise * Cultivate relationships that include C-Level leaders (Department heads, Administrators, Commissioners, Bureau Chiefs, CIOs) and business counterparts to ensure growth of the client relationships and software transformational opportunities * Meet with State clients and established alignment plan parameters to build and nurture the relationship and assist in identifying further opportunities * Comprehends and effectively communicates Netsmart's overall guiding principles and strategic imperatives, solution offerings, technology, and consulting services and how they relate to provide total client value * Leverages cross Netsmart solutions and market knowledge to create lasting client relationships * Effectively teams with the Client Development, Netsmart Community Practice Leaders, Lines of Business Managers, and Operational teams to bring the right resources to the client alignment effort * Identifies new client business development opportunities and communicates them to the Public Sector and Client Development teams Requirements: * 4 or more years of software sales experience or relevant Public Sector experience * 4 or more years of experience selling enterprise software applications ore relevant Public Sector experience * Human Services, health and/or welfare organizations in Public Sector * Up to 70% travel required * Demonstrable success in leading and managing significant account growth for clients * Bachelor's Degree Preferred Skills: * Managed multiple human services clients * Worked with service organizations giving guidance in enterprise software deployments * Current health and human services relationships * Experience leveraging service delivery for State or government clients * Passion for developing, growing and sustaining revenue relationships with clients * Professional certifications are advantageous Netsmart provides equal employment and advancement opportunities to all individuals.
