OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Join the Chicken of the Sea brand as our VP of Finance. As the VP of Finance, you will direct and oversee the financial activities and will play a critical role in the financial leadership and strategic direction of our company. We are looking for a finance leader who has a commercial and operational mindset to partner with the company's senior leadership team to develop and implement strategies that drive the company's overall goals and objectives. The VP oversees finance and accounting functions, which include financial planning, budget management, plant cost controlling, cashflow management, timely financial reporting, internal control, and compliance, etc.

The VP of Finance is responsible for reporting on the financial health of the company to the board of directors and escalating material non-compliance issues to the board. This role reports to the Group CFO in Thailand and EVP in Pittsburgh, PA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Budgeting, Reforecasting and Financial Management

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's goals and objectives.

  • Lead annual budgeting and monthly reforecasting, providing analysis to leadership.

  • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide regular updates and analysis to the Executive Leadership team and Board of Directors.

  • Develop and maintain financial forecasting models or insightful financial analysis that support commercial and strategic analysis and decisions.

Financial Operations

  • Manage and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

  • Oversee manufacturing costs and optimize expenses.

  • Collaborate with commercial and supply chain leaders on inventory and working capital.

  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in financial records and reporting.

  • Present financial reports to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors, providing analysis and recommendations as needed.

  • Develop financing and cash management strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage external partnerships.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

  • Alert the Board of Directors to financial irregularities and provide strategic advice.

  • Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.

  • Oversee credit decisions and the receivable insurance renewal process.

  • Effective short-term and long-term finance strategies and advice to drive the company's goals and objectives

  • Impactful financial analysis supporting commercial activities

  • Financial control and accurate financial statements

  • Deep engagement with plant activities

  • Financial statements are presented accurately and timely. Adherence to Financial Reporting Guidelines from Thai Union Group

  • Effective internal controls and mitigated credit risks

  • Regular updates to leadership on financial health and performance to the Group CEO, Group CFO, ELT and board of directors

REQUIREMENTS

  • 15+ years of finance experience, preferably in consumer goods, food and beverage, or retail.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or Accounting, CPA required; MBA desirable.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling and advanced Excel.

  • Executive presence and ability to collaborate with senior leaders.

  • Comfortable in fast-paced environments and strong team player.

  • Energetic, proactive, and adaptable with excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to innovate while maintaining attention to detail.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, communicate, usually through talking, hearing, writing and typing. Employee should be able to operate standard office equipment, i.e., telephones, computers, facsimile and copier. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk, and move or lift to 35 lbs. The employee regularly works in a well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with a moderate degree of noise.

The employee is required to comply with all company policies, rules and directives, including safe work practices.
