Republicans run for ~70,000 elections uncontested every year. Our CTO will build the scaled marketing operations to fix this, stop Trumpism, and change the landscape of American politics.

We are looking for an expert and leader in marketing technology. The ideal candidate has strong enough knowledge of marketing or organizing tactics to be a meaningful collaborator as we develop specific funnels to achieve our goals. Their management experience will include both people management of a small team, as well as strong experience in architecture. They will have managed the technical back-end for a highly sophisticated conversion operation which identified leads and took them through complex or high-bar funnels such as: purchasing a product, signing up to be a user, or getting a mortgage. They should be able to cost different solutions, including assessing consultants and software products and to be able to make “build or buy” decisions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain our exceptionally low-cost, high volume SMS capabilities
• Quickly grow new marketing systems and manage a team of operations staff
• Manage technical staff leading work on automation, data integration and analytics
• Architect and develop technical capacities to allow our program, strategy and fundraising work to succeed
• Build cost assumptions into tactics and use A/B testing to guide our programs to most the cost-effective investments to maximize organizing outputs

Requirements

• 4+ years managing technical teams, including 2+ years managing managers
• Python, cloud computing (AWS), and web application experience
• ETL and data pipeline management experience, ideally with experience related to attribution and cohort tracking
• Burning desire to stop fascism

Preferred:

• Tech experience on a marketing product
• Experience as a technical founder or early employee of a start-up
• Product management experience with a marketing product
• Experience with Civis, EveryAction, SMS data, voter file vendor data
• Political cycle experience related in a technical role related to distributed organizing or digital fundraising

Benefits

Compensation: $200,000-$240,000
