As the Vice President of Corporate Development at Marmon Utility, you will drive future growth by creating, assessing and managing business opportunities, including in the M&A space. You will work with our senior leadership team and corporate partners to identify, disposition and manage various strategic opportunities. You will be leading our initiatives to ensure the company invests, both organically and inorganically, in the assets and capabilities necessary to stay ahead of our competition and expand our business to meet growth objectives. The role will have exposure to strategy, M&A, strategic planning, and project management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead the company in driving strategic growth initiatives, making well-founded recommendations to the Company President and senior leadership team.

  • Develop and implement business and corporate development strategies consistent with the overall corporate growth objectives, driving long-term value for the company.

  • Identify, evaluate and execute on organic or inorganic growth opportunities.

  • Lead strategic and operational planning initiatives that align with company's strategic priorities.

  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence on potential acquisition targets, making a full assessment of financial, operational and strategic capabilities and "fit"

  • Develop financial models, valuation analyses and business cases to support M&A decisions.

  • Manage the entire M&A process with integration, collaborating effectively with internal and external partners.

  • Support Company President on strategic partnerships, initiatives and alliances that enhance the company's competitive position.

  • Identify, track and maintain metrics to measure success.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have a four-year college degree from an accredited institution in a relevant business field, MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

  • You have 10+ years' experience in corporate development and strategy, or equivalent experience in business leadership / P&L.

  • You have strong business acumen and excellent project management skills, with the capability to organize and deliver on multiple complex deadlines.

  • You are creative, entrepreneurial, and will thrive in a growing and fast-paced environment

  • You have proven executive-level leadership, influencing, communication and negotiation skills.

  • You are entrepreneurial, creative, and are willing to try new ideas and take measured risks.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • You have experience leading through influence, managing cross-functionally .

  • Preferred candidates will have a technical background with strong analytical capabilies.

  • Experience in industrial engineering and/or manufacturing industries

  • Ability to effectively interface with the commercial organization, R&D, finance, legal, HR and executive management.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Office Position, must be capable of sitting for extended periods of time.

  • Travel may require ground or air vehicle usage. Travel to existing Marmon business sites, and/or to prospective seller locations is required. Up to 30% total travel.

  • Offices are located in Seymour CT or Milford NH. Position will be on-site / hybrid remote.
