NIKA Solutions is hiring for a VP of Business Development and Capture to join our team in our HQ office in Rockville, MD. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of success in supporting complex capture projects throughout the entire Federal Acquisition lifecycle from inception to award. This individual will contribute directly to opportunity identification, research, development, shaping, win strategy development, and proposal development activities leading to the successful capture of new business and re-compete opportunities.Primary Report directly to Head of Business Development and Capture Strategy, and will be KEY member of the Companys Strategic Growth Team. * Help define target markets, services, identify and qualify new business opportunities. * Lead business development activity and functional support leads through the capture process to include: customer contact, competitive intelligence, gap analysis, and conduct research for new opportunities, partners, services, and competitors. * Actively participate and have a lead role in the Companys weekly pipeline process, go/no go process, and ongoing capture process. * Participate in price-to-win, proposal development, color reviews, submission and final proposal revisions. * Must display an extremely high level of communication skills to present, inform and persuade high level internal and external customers of the companys understanding of customer needs and requirements, business development and capture plans, strategies and actions. * Coordinate with company executives, business development, and proposal staff members to carry out capture strategy and win new business. * In conjunction with the Head of Business Development and Capture, must develop strategy and capture plans, and create and track schedules presented at capture meetings. * Present the opportunitys status at required gate reviews and obtain approvals as required to progress the opportunity through its lifecycle. * Interface with industry peers and evaluate/recommend teaming arrangements * Help identify, make introductions with, and help recruit other KEY personnel, BOS SMEs, and strategic industry leaders. * Attend customer, partner, and industry events and meetings. * Required monthly travel for industry events.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Bachelor's Degree and at least fifteen (15) years of experience within the Federal Contracting community. * Ten plus (10+) years of experience in Government Contracting required. * Five plus (5+) years of experience in Architecture, Engineering, or Facilities Operations Management related industries required. * Capture management, business development and federal market experience focused on growth in DoD services or Federal Civilian markets * Experience with DoD - Air Force, Army, Navy, and Federal Civilian Agencies GSA, NIH, FDA, etc.. * Experience in targeting select markets, identifying, qualifying and winning new business opportunities. * Must have effective oral and written communication skills coupled with the ability to establish and maintain productive customer and industry participant networks. * Strong presentations skills and demonstrated track record of industry engagement. * Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. * Travel by land or air transportation up to 50%. * Must be a US citizen, existing security clearance, or ability to obtain security clearance. * An Equal Opportunity Employer.
