U.S. Bank is currently seeking a Vice President of Marketing Strategy, who will be responsible for driving marketing strategy in the organization and ensuring that marketing strategy and integrated marketing are carried out at both the enterprise and initiative levels. This role will partner closely with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), corporate strategy, product teams, and the lines of business to translate priority business objectives into marketing strategies that will enable U.S. Bank to meet bottom-line growth goals while addressing customer needs. Key components of this role include ensuring business case development, customer and competitive insights, and data monitoring and tracking are implemented into the marketing strategy and planning processes.

The Vice President of Marketing Strategy will help build and manage a team of Marketing Strategy Directors/Managers who are responsible for initiative-level/project-based marketing strategy development and ensuring the strategy is carried forward through into integrated planning and execution. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Drives marketing strategy at the enterprise and initiative levels and achieves defined objectives;

  • Builds marketing strategy capabilities in the organization;

  • Leads a team of marketing strategists;

  • Collaborates with the CMO, product teams, lines of business, and corporate strategy on marketing strategy initiatives;

  • Effectively and holistically uses customer insights, competitive intelligence, and data/analytics to translate business goals into marketing strategies;

  • Develops marketing strategy processes and best practices to educate lines of businesses and the rest of the marketing organization on the value of marketing strategy;

  • Ensures marketing strategy best practices are implemented at the enterprise and initiative levels;

  • Cultivates relationships with key marketing and business leaders throughout the organization; and

  • Fosters an environment of problem solving, collaboration, creativity, support, coaching, consulting, and partnership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Ten-plus years of Marketing, Communications, Brand Strategy, and/or Consulting experience

  • Five-plus years of leadership/people management experience

  • Understanding, interest, and expertise in the financial services industry

  • Proven record in problem solving and strategic thinking

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, diplomacy, and ability to gain buy-in from diverse teams

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience leveraging customer insights to drive strategy

  • Proven experience with integrated marketing planning and processes

  • Experience leveraging digital channels to enhance the customer experience and drive marketing effectiveness

Preferred Skills/Knowledge

  • Fifteen-plus years of Marketing, Communications, Brand Strategy, and/or Consulting experience

  • Eight-plus years of people management experience

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Strategy, or related field strongly preferred

Job Summary Within marketing, the Brand Strategy & Performance team is responsible for developing Marketing strategies that are built around driving brand relevance among the next generation of Harley-Davidson riders. We are currently looking to fill a newly created role on the team. This role will be critical to the team, leading brand and marketing efforts around much of our More Roads announcements, specifically related to the new products we are introducing to the market (e.g. electric vehicles, adventure touring, etc.). This role is expected to develop sound strategies, based on consumer insights, and play a key role in helping align the broader Harley-Davidson marketing organization.
