Position Summary / Career Interest:

The VP IT Information is responsible for developing and implementing a strategic vision for application and data management that aligns with the health system's goals. Leads the planning and execution of long-term strategies for technology and data infrastructure. Identifies and drives innovation in applications and data management to support clinical excellence, research advancement, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for application and data management that aligns with the health system's goals.

  • Lead the planning and execution of long-term strategies for technology and data infrastructure

  • Identify and drive innovation in applications and data management to support clinical excellence, research advancement, and operational efficiency.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in healthcare IT to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of innovation.

  • Application Management

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of all clinical, research, and administrative applications.

  • Ensure the application portfolio supports the needs of clinicians, researchers, and administrative staff.

  • Manage relationships with application vendors and service providers to ensure optimal performance, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with strategic goals.

  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements with vendors.

  • Integration and Interoperability

  • Ensure seamless integration of various applications within the health system's IT ecosystem.

  • Promote interoperability standards to facilitate effective data exchange across systems.

  • Data Management and Analytics

  • Establish, oversee, and or support data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure data assets are managed effectively to support clinical care, research, and business operations.

  • Lead and or support the development of analytics and business intelligence capabilities to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Promote the use of advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to enhance clinical and operational outcomes.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that supports the organization's mission and strategic objectives.

  • Foster a culture of data literacy and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

  • Operational Excellence

  • Monitor and manage the performance of applications and data systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and user satisfaction.

  • Implement performance metrics and reporting mechanisms to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of application and data management processes.

  • Implement best practices and industry standards in IT service management.

  • Leadership and Collaboration

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of IT professionals, including application developers, data analysts, and system administrators.

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages professional growth and development.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with clinical, research, and administrative leaders to understand their needs and ensure IT solutions meet those needs.

  • Serve as a key liaison between IT and other departments, promoting effective communication and collaboration.

  • Compliance and Security

  • Ensure all applications and data management practices comply with relevant healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation of necessary changes.

  • Oversee the implementation of robust cybersecurity measures in partnership with Information Security and Cybersecurity teams to protect sensitive data and systems.

  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to mitigate security risks and respond to incidents.

  • Budget and resource Management

  • Develop and manage the budget for application and data initiatives, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies in IT operations.

  • Ensure appropriate allocation of resources to support strategic priorities and operational needs.

  • Manage staffing levels and professional development to maintain a skilled and capable IT workforce.

  • Artificial Intelligence oversight, including automation support and maintenance

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, Business, Healthcare, or related field
  • 10 years of Information Technology or relevant experience, including 5 years of management or leadership experience

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Sciences, Business, Healthcare, or related field
  • 5 years of clinical experience.
