Job Summary

The Vice President (VP), Internal Audit Manager reports to the Senior Vice President (SVP), IA Director. The VP, IA Manager is responsible for the overseeing and assisting with various internal audit engagements in order to achieve the successful completion of the Internal Audit plan. The VP, Internal Audit Manager performance audit assurance of the effectiveness and sustainability of processes and controls and identifies opportunities to strengthen internal controls and mitigate risks. The VP, IA Manager also monitors management's remediation efforts to address any identified concerns, which includes conducting follow-up testing of related action plans

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and perform audit engagements and activities ranging from moderate to high complexity to support the successful achievement of the department's goals and objectives

  • Oversee and participate in the planning, execution, and reporting of audit engagements, including the scope, quality, and timeliness of work performed

  • Supervise, review, and manage the work of others, including third party, co-sourced resources, by following and enforcing audit policy, standards, and procedures

  • Effectively communicate with the Chief Internal Audit Officer, , Internal Audit Directors, and management of audit engagement progress, testing exceptions, and emerging risk issues in a timely manner

  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with business and risk management, including serving as the key point person during audits

  • Together with the Internal Audit Director, monitor and verify/validate issue remediation plans have been effectively implemented

  • Participate in the Internal Audit Risk Assessment process and Internal Audit Plan development process and Continuous Monitoring activities

  • Prioritize daily responsibilities and prepare routine project status reports, as requested. Demonstrate the ability to self-direct and work with a sense of urgency

  • Maintain audit independence and objectivity in all assignments and adhere with all organizational and professional ethics standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate a broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in internal auditing standards plus a working knowledge of disciplines related to auditable areas

  • Supervisory and project management experience commensurate with the responsibilities of the role

  • Ability to initiate, establish, and foster communication and teamwork by maintaining a positive, cooperative, and productive work atmosphere

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Effective analytical and organization skills

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and handle matters independently

  • Strong proficiency with PC applications (MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) with a general understanding of data analysis techniques

  • Commitment to professional development through relevant continuing education programs

Required:

  • At least eight years of demonstrated successful experience in auditing, five or more of which are in internal audit

  • Five years of experience in the financial services industry

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience

Preferred:

Audit certification such as Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, or Certified Public Accountant

Salary Range: $111,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD; Final salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with geographic/market data.
