Responsibilities

The Vice President, Inflight Experience is an officer of Spirit Airlines who operates as a core member of the executive team ensuring alignment and execution of strategic corporative objectives and initiatives. The Vice President is responsible for driving industry-leading safety, operational reliability and financial performance of a high impact guest facing flight attendant group with 6000+ team members.

The Vice President develops, implements, and ensures the effective management of programs that include safety, revenue optimization, guest experience improvement and compliance with regulatory and compliance obligations.

The Vice President fosters a culture of engagement, creativity, partnership and accountability with our team members and unions while providing overall leadership that fuels world class management across a comprehensive and expanding base footprint through the Americas. As a key champion of the end-to-end onboard experience, the Vice President is a guest-obsessed leader who can play at the strategic and operational level while rolling their sleeves up and collaborating with the front line.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and engender a Culture of Safety:

  • Champion the importance of safe operating practices throughout the organization, empowering each Team Member with the authority and responsibility to stop the operation if the safety of personnel or assets is in jeopardy.

  • Orchestrate the delivery of a guest experience that exceeds expectations through the ongoing management of people, processes and technology.

  • Explore, innovate, and implement technology that improves operational performance, increases guest satisfaction, reduces costs, and drives revenue up.

  • Ensuring Flight Attendant teams are laser focused and accountable for safe on-time departures.

  • Embody a Culture of Team Member Trust and Commitment:

  • Lead a world-class Leadership team that embodies a culture of excellence.

  • Grow team buy-in to company objectives and continue to build Spirit as an employer of choice.

  • Oversee the strategy and execution of Spirit's catering program:

  • Meet or exceed customer and Team Member expectations relative to product availability and Point of Sale device reliability and availability.

  • Increase program profitability through program development and cost control.

  • Understand sales mechanisms and top performers to create incentives and recognition.

  • Achieve Industry-leading Financial Performance:

  • Establish the most cost-effective and efficient business unit through sound and innovative financial management and oversight and increased Flight Attendant productivity.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure that all Spirit and regulatory standards and procedures are followed.

  • Leads the Inflight Emergency Response Program.

  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with operational and non-operational counterparts:

  • Build effective relationships with Airport Services, Flight Operations, Technical Operations, Crew Resources, AFA leadership, Uniform Committee, EAP/Professional Standards Committee, Health and Safety Committee, Grievance Committee, OSHA and FAA.

  • Participate in the negotiation of a mutually beneficial new Flight Attendant contract:

  • Drive contract negotiations and implementation.

  • Responsible for the accurate administration of all aspects of the Flight Attendant agreement, including grievances, mediation and arbitrations.

  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • 7+ years' experience leading large teams

  • Ability to motivate, mentor, lead, coach, and develop a team.

  • Obtain understanding of all aspects of a Flight Attendant's role and daily job duties.

  • Experience in contract interpretation and application (preferred).

  • Cost-focused operational leadership experience.

  • Experience with collective bargaining agreement administration preferred.

  • Ability to motivate, mentor, lead, coach, and develop a team.

  • Domestic & International travel approximately 25% of time

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
