The VP, Human Resources is a key contributor working with all levels of leadership at Vistage Worldwide. Reporting to the President/Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President will act as the company's Human Resources expert, a Business Partner to the Executive Leadership Team, a change agent and a trusted advisor to all employees. The ideal candidate will drive company culture, strengthen values, apply policies and procedures, and reinforce the behaviors needed to support the company's strategy, objectives, and activities.

Ultimately accountable for the continued focus on corporate culture, s/he is progressive and strategic, yet hands on as many aspects of the role require individual contributions. We are looking for a team player who can position Vistage as the Employer of Choice by optimizing our human capital, benefits, and development programs. The VP will also be responsible for mediation, coaching, and resolution to employee relations issues that may arise, taking advantage of opportunities to strengthen the culture and performance capacity at Vistage.


  • Optimize and manage the Human Resources roadmap to support the execution of the company vision.

  • Provide focused, business-minded HR leadership, emphasizing HR's measurable contribution to business success and business metrics (revenue growth, profitability, market share, customer service, expense, etc.).

  • Lead HR staff to enhance strategic and tactical programs regarding: talent, employee relations, benefits, employee learning and development, compliance and compensation.

  • Provide overarching guidance on large-scale benefits decisions and talent management practices.

  • Establish credibility throughout the organization, and set an example as a proactive senior leader and change agent who earns respect by demonstrating a sound understanding of business objectives and goals.

  • Participate in the development of the corporation's plans and programs as a strategic partner but particularly from the perspective of the impact on employees.

  • Cultivate impactful relationships within all levels of the organization to have influence on company culture and employee engagement.

  • Ability to roll up your sleeves side-by-side with existing HR members on a variety of projects, big and small.

  • Provide counseling and coaching to employee relations issues that arise. When necessary, partner with Legal and lead investigations on complex employee issues.


  • Minimum 10 years of progressive HR management experience in a fast-paced environment.

  • Undergraduate degree required; Master's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources management, or a related field is preferred.

  • Minimum of three years at the senior management in an organization of similar or larger size.

  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

  • Ability to foster and cultivate trust and partnerships at all levels.

  • Strong problem solving and creative skills, ability to multi-task and remain calm, a forward thinker, and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.

  • Strong leadership and management skills with an excellent focus on team player orientation.

  • High level of integrity, transparency and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

  • Special skills which are required include, business acumen, strategic planning, organizational assessment, highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills, and quantitative analytical abilities.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-task project environment.

  • Ability to present information logically and consistently.

Employee Relations * Utilize knowledge of laws, company policies and best practices to resolve employee issues. * Conducts investigations and prepares documentation. * Mitigates legal risk. * Coaches managers on Performance Management conversations & documentation. * Prepares requests for termination. * Must have solid knowledge of Federal and State (CA) employment laws and ability to educate business leaders and employees on these laws and apply in handling of employee issues. Talent Acquisition * Partner with recruiters and business leaders to interview and select candidates. * Conduct salary analysis to determine candidate offers and ensure organizational equity. Compensation * Leads the annual merit, bonus and out of cycle compensation programs for their assigned client groups, ensuring a fair and consistent application as well as company equity. Engagement & Retention * Conduct exit interviews. * Utilize exit interview data to identify trends and make recommendations to reduce turnover and improve employee engagement. * Works with employees as needed to support ADA/FMLA/WC cases and accommodations.
