VP, Head Of Sample Management

Evotec is a leader in the discovery and development of novel small molecule drugs with operational sites in Europe, Asia and the US. General Summary:

The VP, Sample Management is responsible for directing all activities and projects of the department, day-to-day management of all department's operations and resources with group leaders, as well as providing strategic leadership in collaboration with other heads of departments of the company (Leadership Team).

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all department's activities.

• Manages group leaders/senior managers in order to plan, set, achieve and review the goals for discovery projects and programs

• Provides senior scientific leadership and operational guidance across all areas of the department

• Works closely with program management, manages cross-functional project teams and acts as content owner of various projects

• Manages and optimizes department's budget, investments and allocation of resources, in line with the group's policies

• Hire, retain, motivate and develop members of the department

• Ensures people's development through actions as trainings, mobility…

• Manages external relationships with customers, consultants and subcontractors

• Ensures respect of client's expectations as well as confidentiality regarding studies and clients data

• Manages workload, resources and planning for department's projects

• Provides strategic leadership and fosters culture jointly with the site management and other heads of departments (Leadership Team)

• Contributes, leads or sponsors continuous improvement projects, which can benefit from the lean methodology

• Manages all activities with respect to the applicable Quality and Health & Safety procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• PhD/engineer degree, in Life Sciences

• ~15 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry, with relevant achievements

• Experience in team management required, ability to manage leaders is clearly a plus in Drug Discovery field

• Experience in project management and client relationship

• Advanced level in English and French.
