The VP of GPOs will develop and execute the overall GPO strategy of McKesson Medical-Surgical, which includes many of the largest GPOs in the industry. This individual will be responsible for the successful negotiation of contracts with the GPOs as well as ensuring the business maintains positive and beneficial relationships with the GPOs.

The strategic reach of the position is across all sales and business segments of Medical-Surgical including finance, strategic supplier partnerships and strategy as well as with other business units of McKesson. The role will require research, analytics and scenario planning. This person will need to be a good diplomat with the confidence to represent varying positions with varying partners.

The intensity of this work requires strong collaboration and partnership with the ability to manage conflict professionally. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to challenge the status quo, challenge beliefs and possibilities, evolve a relationship and strengthen positions in order to influence management to consider new approaches and partnerships. As a leader of others, this individual must be able to cohesively and purposefully lead a team to deliver on the GPO strategy, growing their skills and abilities while enabling their success.
