Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Vice President, Corporate FP&A Planning and Reporting in our Global Financial Planning & Analysis team.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, collaborative environment positioned in our Global Financial Planning & Analysis team as part of the finance function. This individual will be responsible for producing timely and insightful analysis and executive-level presentations; managing the annual strategic & operating planning process; reviewing and understanding annual strategic and operating plans; preparing forecasts; peer analysis and other ad hoc analytical requests.

What you'll be doing:

  • Reviewing and understanding the strategic and operating plan and forecast produced for our businesses and using this information to further develop analysis as requested.

  • Manage and develop Board and Audit Committee materials evolving content based on the results of the Company.

  • Facilitate quarterly business reviews of SBU leads for the executive leadership team. Ensure standardization of materials and appropriate focus on new, developing, or challenging initiatives.

  • Establish and monitor peer data metrics and standardize KPIs to measure financial and operational performance.

  • Work closely with Strategic business partners of SBU leads to obtain necessary information and supporting documentation to understand the results of each SBU platform.

  • Assist in the review of materials during the annual planning process for establishment of key data inputs including loss ratios, ceded programs, and expense planning.

  • Maintain close working relationship with underwriters, pricing actuaries and FP&A SBU partners.

  • Mentor and manage a team of financial professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous development.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting required; CPA/CFA/MBA a plus.

  • 15 + years of finance, accounting and/or reporting experience, preferably in the Commercial Insurance Market; Minimum 5 years of experience leading teams in financial planning and analysis, ideally in a global context.

  • Ability to understand, analyse and succinctly summarize financial results.

  • Proven success record in leading high performing teams and achieving results through others.

  • Demonstrable leadership competencies, including the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders across hierarchies and functional boundaries.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information to diverse audiences.

  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Work effectively in a team environment and independently.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and assignments and deadline driven.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Word; Access and SAP or other general ledger applications and database querying tools a plus.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $250,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
