Summary
The Vice President of Finance provides fiscal leadership and oversight to the Cancer Center at all levels of the organization to support the mission, philosophy and goals. The position oversees programs that fall under Finance to support the mission of care, education and research within the Cancer Center. Ensures world-class administrative services to our patients that continually exceeds their expectations.
This includes developing and implementing the strategic vision of finance which includes the enablement and optimization of Moffitt's resources through partnership with internal and external stakeholders. This strategic leader will collaborate closely with the executive team to drive financial decisions, enhance operational efficiency, and contribute to overall business growth.
Strategic Financial Guidance
Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO and executive team.
Participate in strategic planning sessions, providing insights and recommendations based on financial data.
Contribute to long-term financial goals and objectives.
Accounting Operations Oversight
Accounts payable (payables)
Accounts receivable (receivables)
Payroll processing
Tax preparation
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets.
Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with business units to align financial plans with organizational goals.
Business Unit Finance
Partner with business unit leaders to understand their financial needs.
Provide financial guidance and support for business unit initiatives.
Monitor financial performance at the business unit level.
Financial Reporting Oversee the timely and accurate external financial reporting including
debt filings and disclosures
Minimum Experience Required
A minimum of ten (10) years of finance experience in healthcare operations, physician practice
management and research experience is required.
Understanding of Cost reporting, F&A rate, accounting, external financial statements and enhancing financial performance is expected.
A track record of continuously improving process, upskilling team members and utilization of technology
to enhance work is required.
A visible, motivational, accessible leadership style with a commitment to building and mentoring a team
with a customer service orientation. An individual who believes in empowering staff to perform at their
highest level. Finance is considered a service to the organization and having a customer centric mindset
is imperative. A communication style that is inviting and breaks down complex topics into digestible
information is required
Leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support to department and promote employee development.
Strong persuasive abilities to influence others.
Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with team members, co-workers, faculty, patients and payer representatives.
Proven analytical ability and organizational skills necessary to organize/assess information and evaluate recommendations based on data analysis.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to support interaction and participation in meetings with patients, physicians, payer representatives, affiliates, oncology partners, and representatives of other internal departments.
History of demonstrable process improvements that result in increased team member satisfaction and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Experience
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Accounting, BusinessAdministration, Finance or related field.

Master's Degree MBA, Masters of Health Administration (or equivalent)

Certified Public Accountant

CHFP, FHFMA or FACHE certification
