Position Overview:

As the Vice President of Field Development, you will be responsible for the overall productivity, effectiveness and growth of the Stella & Dot and KEEP Collective independent sales organization, as measured by IBO (Independent Business Owner) productivity, activity, sponsoring and retention rates. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the VP of Field Development leads the field success teams that span training, events, incentives, recognition, and communication.


  • Develop and Lead Winning Field Sales Strategy: Collaborate with Global Sales Teams to develop strategic plans to drive field growth. Represent the field internally with cross-functional teams for strategic decisions across Merchandising, Technology, Marketing and Operations.

  • Lead Field Communications Team to create clear, compelling ways to reach the field in most desired way/tonality and ensure events are highly engaging and value added.

  • Lead recognition and rewards programs that drive growth and reinforce the core compensation plan. Understands fully the career plan and will make suggestions for modifications based on data and insights.

  • Lead Events: Drive Stella & Dot & KEEP Collective field in person and digital field events including opportunity & training tours, national sales conference (Hoopla) and leadership events.

  • Motivate and manage team to deliver programs to increase selling success across multiple and emerging methods; increase productivity per IBO and Improve New IBO success.

  • Drive simplicity for our field in selling methods and programs, increasing dollar per hour and IBO NPS across all levels.

  • Ensure all program, technology and product launches have a 360-execution plan for field success. Develop and manage cross-functional calendar and drive cross-functional alignment to ensure successful execution. Partners include Customer Service, Distribution, Merchandising, Inventory Planning, etc.

  • Interact with Field regularly from one on one to groups, in person and virtually.

  • Track competitive landscape to ensure we offer the most competitive programs to our IBOs.


  • Have 8+ years direct/social selling experience preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.

  • Have a track record of leading and developing teams to their fullest potential, providing candid feedback and coaching, career pathing and development.

  • Create a fun, high energy, high performance team.

  • Be innovative, analytical and create solutions and programs to help IBOs thrive in a dynamic changing marketplace and competitive landscape.

  • Have strong communication and leadership skills: sets, communicates and manages priorities in accordance with company goals.

Position Summary ultraimpact – Make a difference for those who need it most Reporting to the National Field Director, the Associate Field Director assists with developing initiatives that increase the value and productivity of the field medical team. S/he is responsible for understanding customer insights and accountable for coaching MSLs in field to ensure a valued scientific customer experience. S/he will also be responsible for delivering core work to support MSLs in field (e.g., core skills training, team communications, internal reports). The Associate Director MSL is expected to assist with team activities, serve as a coach to MSL colleagues – based upon strong field-based competencies and scientific expertise, and support onboarding and identification of scientific materials required to effectively conduct scientific exchange. Essential Functions and Responsibilities, including but not limited to: * Work with National Field Director on strategy, vision, objectives, and priorities * Is proficient in the MSL role and can step in for open MSL positions / leave of absences * Assist with coaching MSLs to support key deliverables that focus on issues specific to customer need from scientific exchange, clinical trials and support MSLs in field through assisting with training, communications, insights, and territory medical engagement plan development * Attend and assist with national field medical meetings * Lead special projects as directed by Field Medical Leadership * Lead MSL activity and insight reporting efforts by reviewing and collating individual reports * Identify and champion field team needs to Field Medical Leadership * Update and maintain on-boarding training programs (disease, science, clinical data, and soft skills like presentations and 1 on 1 interactions), and appropriate evaluations Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Advanced Clinical/Science Degree is preferred (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MSN, MPH, etc.) * 6+ years Medical Science Liaison or other relevant industry, clinical or health science research experience * Outstanding organizational and time management skills; proven abilities to manage multiple, often complex and sometimes competing, objectives, goals and other priorities to effective and efficient conclusion * Experience leading or managing MSL and/or demonstrated ability to lead without authority is preferred * Previous management responsibilities with proven success in leading people and projects to consistently deliver desired results highly preferred * Focus on being a coach and a catalyst to team members * Excellent communication and presentation skills; exhibits professional maturity, confidence, and competence. * Strong attention-to-detail * Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel * Business travel, by air or car, is required for regular internal /external business meetings and field visits for coaching individuals (up to 70% of time) * This is a field-based position. * Significant are disease experience * Proficient in US and Compliance guidelines and laws Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
