Position Summary: Direct and oversee empty container, chassis and genset operations, maintenance and repair, as well as tracking system updating in relation to cost management and service delivery.

This position is responsible for all financial aspects of the above-mentioned activities and will interact with other departments within in North America and in Marseille (HO), as well as other business units as needed to ensure service levels are identified and maintained. Essential Duties / Responsibilities: Set and maintain standards and policies for container, chassis and genset inventory levels, utilization and equipment tracking, as well as maintenance and repair of the same.

Establish and implement processes and policies to ensure empty containers and chassis move in the most cost effective and timely manner possible. In conjunction with Home Office, develop schemas of container evacuation ensuring adequate supply of empty equipment on the vessels. Responsible for successful management of the CMA CGM Domestic product and for management of HO mandated one-way offhire and container sales programs.

Create a work environment of trust and engagement. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback. Encourage communication and teamwork.

Provide clear direction and realistic goals that are reinforced by effective feedback, recognition and support. Encourage and facilitate employee development. Coordinate activities with Marine Operations to ensure that the vessel space is efficiently utilized by loading a maximum number of empty units vs. our allocation Work with HO Equipment Control to ensure alignment of US organization with the global organization.

Ensure depot costs in marine yards, rail facilities and inland depots are minimized and efficient. Develop a network of cost-effective vendors to repair CMA CGM equipment. (dry vans, specials, gensets and reefers). Develop and implement cost savings initiatives and cost controls for Equipment Control Operations and Maintenance and Repair. Manage the CMA CGM chassis fleet, including chassis pool management to ensure the lowest cost and highest utilization possible.

Work with Procurement to ensure most cost effective and efficient mode(s) of transportation are utilized. Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required. 10 years of industry and general experience required.

Minimum of 5 years of management experience is required.
