Job Summary

The Vice President, ERM Specialist will work directly with the CRO and play an important Group-level role in the effective implementation of Arch's Enterprise Risk Management framework. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional and cross-organizational teams to identify and assess risks, manage risk-related processes, and support the delivery of risk analytics to Group executive management and the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

Risk Identification, Assessment and Monitoring:

  • Ensure the organization's risk management policies align with applicable regulations and the strategic imperatives of the organization.

  • Lead the current Group-level risk assessment process including maintaining the risk register and related risk policies.

  • Collaborate on and facilitate the development of new risk-related deliverables including climate change, cyber security risk and other emerging issues.

  • Lead the process for purchasing and maintaining corporate insurance for property/casualty and certain financial lines of business.

Risk Reporting and Communication:

  • Support the CRO in preparing comprehensive quarterly risk reporting to executive management and the board of directors.

  • Support the CRO in leading and coordinating interactions with business segment and local legal entity CROs.

  • Lead maintenance and evolution of the Group's existing ORSA, Risk Appetite and Risk Register processes.

  • Support regulatory financial reporting processes related to risk assessment and risk management such as Bermuda solvency capital reporting and the IAIS Insurance Capital Standard.

Project Management:

  • Work in a cross-functional environment to address corporate objectives including IAIS ComFrame, Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) group supervision and other emerging requirements.

  • Collaborate with relevant project teams to ensure the timely and successful implementation of risk management-related initiatives.

Education and Experience

  • Strong understanding of finance, risk and exposure management and regulatory standards for a global (re)insurer.

  • Incumbent should have Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in insurance. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., FRM, CRM, CERA, CFA, CPA) is a plus.

  • Experience with enacting and maintaining ORSA, Risk Appetite/Tolerance/Limits, corporate policies and other ERM initiatives in a dynamic international insurance environment is a plus.

  • Demonstrated effective project management skills working across organizational boundaries.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to work productively both independently and as part of a decentralized team.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$225,634 - $271,446/year

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future
